Thank you for your kind words Charles, they are greatly appreciated.
I've never considered one builder's car "better" than any other unless you are going for that mythical term of "screen accurate".
NO ONE will EVER have a "screen accurate" DeLorean Time Machine.
They made AT LEAST 7 Different versions of this car - each with their own subtle differences and details. I hate to burst anyones bubble, but there is no "RIGHT" way to do it. Create a car with the Time Circuit that Doc Programs in the film and you've captured the Process/C-Car. The two other cars in the film had completely different Time Circuits.
You will always come down to creating a hybrid of all the cars in the films - as such every one made by different builders will be different.
To anyone that hopes to create some "standard" for time machines, they should just give up now and spend their time trying to capture rainwater in a noodle strainer - it would be more productive.
Considering the car in this auction was completed over a year ago and had been started about 18 Months before that, I think it's pretty obvious that anything built today would be more "accurate". New info is being uncovered all the time.
Heck, in just the last 6 months I've worked with new Screen Used parts and photos that the BTTF Building Community thought would NEVER see the light of day. I'm having to upgrade stuff which I thought was over and done with years ago. It never ends.
Even if you got all the details "right" - you're still in a pickle. There are details on those cars which make absolutely no sense and border on the dangerous side. Take the rear bulkhead on which nearly everything connects to. On the film cars - it's just three pieces of 1/8" Aluminum Sheet. That's it. They took out the rear window and just slapped the three pieces in there. Everything was then screwed, glued, and passed through those plates.
There is absolutely NO WEATHERSEAL whatsoever. Even during filming they fried the electrical components of the DeLoreans due to this design.
Why anyone would want to recreate THAT design flaw is beyond me. Trust me, Shamwows and Rubber Mats are not an acceptible solution to that glitch.
Of course... I suppose you could just keep your car in hiding all the time and merely TELL everyone you have the most accurate car possible. But what's the fun in that?
I'd rather have a 98% replica I can actually drive around and enjoy WITHOUT worrying about a stray thunderstorm VS. some uber accurate museum piece.

It is a really awesome conversion. I would say it's currently the best completed DeLorean conversion out there.
For now at least
