BSG TOS Real Computers

I was watching BSG TOS yesterday and marveling at the vector style green screen graphics yesterday when, a peculiar fact popped in my head. I know who made those computers because a friend's dad worked for them. In fact, they never mised the show for just this reason. The company: Naval Avionics based here in Indy. I don't know if this info is of any use to anyone, but just in case, I thought I'd post it.

IIRC they said that they had the actors playing games on the computers so they would be
shown on screen paying attention to the monitors. :)

I always like the original series bridge design as a kid.

I was at the Hartsfield-Jackson airport here in Atlanta yesterday to pick up my girlfriend. Her luggage never showed up on the belt, so we stepped inside the little NWA room to report it, and low and behold, two VERY old monochrome computers. With the ultra thick keyboards, with the HUGE keys.

I started to laugh. When the 20 year old behind the counter asked me what was so funny, I pointed at the computer and said "That computer is older than you."

Her reply?

"How old do you think the planes are?"

My girlfriend slapped me. :lol
