BSG- Blood and Chrome - frakking A

Idiots. The only time I watch that channel anymore is for face-off, I don't hold high hope that they will start up a new BSG show... but there's still a chance.

one thing i would want for a pilot is a little more backstory, how it all started. basicly they said they built robots and then they turned against humanity. and suddenly were in space and stuff. it needed a little more explaining. i made up my own story in my head, but the regular viewer might be unsatisfied.

Welcome to 'Caprica'. It was doing all of that background and moral quandry building, was awesome, though light on action. The fans by in large hated it and it was unceramoniously cancelled.

from what I understand there is a possibility of another B&C BSG movie but released just as this one was... in conjunction with Machinima.com I think there has been enough interest, positive reviews and if sales of the DVD hit good there will be more. Just don't expect an actual TV series to come of it but we can hold out hope.
The SyFy showing and DVD release I believe I read won't have any additional material other than the DVD won't have the clanking dropped tool sound edit over the language. I fully expect the TV showing to be nothing more than what we saw online but as one continuous movie of course. I thought it was really well done. I think SyFy got a bit nervous if not burned on the results of Caprica... it was they that pushed for it though, then it got put on hold then finally brought to light. I think it was pretty good and yes, a different pace (too much emphasis in V world made it more like Matrix than BSG and I think that is what lost many of the fans)

The last few episodes of Caprica really picked up the pace and started to get more into what could have been for another season... oh well.

Establishing V world was critical though - not so much for the world as for solidifying the concept of a consciousness existing entirely as a technological construct, that was utterly indistinguishable from a human consciousness. They HAD to spend time there or you don't get why the Cylons have every much a right to think of themselves as sentient as the humans did, and why they are anything more than toasters. It also, I suspect, was getting Adama good, hooked, and desperate to the point that he would have been forced to make some very serious choices about where his loyalties lay as the show went on. Oh well....

I agree but I thought too much time was spent there. the fight scenes especially that didn't move the plot forward. The whole Zoe legend building inside of V world was well established and more time in real world Caprica and perhaps more time with the military pushing to get the cylons ready for use would have been nice. that was only touched upon and the fact that they only ever had the one cylon (with Zoe inside) working yet a legion of dumb Cylons that couldn't be trusted to shoot the intended target went on too long.

Meanwhile, there was a civil war brewing on Tauron... I really thought we'd see the use and abuse of Cylons in that uprising to controversially put the factions of Tauron's in their place... all we got was Sam Adama stealing the only working one and used it to settle a personal mafia hit attempt with the Ha'la'tha... (the only real Cylon action we ever got in the series) then he decides that one prototype could be smuggled to the rebellion on Tauron... but that is as far as that ever went as the whole thing just became a mafia war and hits on each other's mob members.... I enjoyed it for what it was but it went nowhere with the actual cylon story up until little Willie is hit in crossfire and dies...(which was a nice surprise reveal for who he was and not who we thought he was all along...) then all the sudden for not much explanation all the Cylons work just fine, they have a functional army of them ready to deploy to the military and the show ended! drats! :D
Again, I was a fan of the show... I was okay with the slower pace and got it... I just felt the progress of the cylons and the military need for them could have been better.

I think you hit it right on the head here. The problem is that by that point the show was already chopped. The last couple episodes were the team trying to give fans at least some closure for all their support. I myself felt it started off slow, but understood what they were trying to do. I feel like if they had another season it would have gotten to the stage where everyone could have felt happy with the way they were going.

And an entire episode about a bank robbery in V world was important how? The show was an entire mess. Terrible from start to finish. I'm sure it didn't help that the show was never meant to be a BSG series and the Syphilis Channel took a pitch from someone and forced it to be changed into a BSG series.

Blood and Chrome will be shown on the Syfy Network on February 10.
Syfy's 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' (Finally) Gets TV Premiere Date - Deadline.com

I never watched it online, so I can't wait to see it for the first time.

If you guys want more sci-fi on Syfy, you should definitely make an effort to catch the show when it airs, then blog/tweet/facebook/etc about it. If we can convince the network that there's a viable, sizable audience that WANTS this type of programming, they'll put more effort into putting it on the air.

Their argument for not putting on more sci-fi programming is they claim there's no audience for it.

Man, blood and chrome looked good. It makes you wish that bsg had that level of cgi. Maybe the show could have had a lot more action and less screaming in hallways

Remember, BSG: Blood & Chrome is airing tonight on SyFy @ 9PM EST! Watch it, Record it and then buy the Blu Ray so they'll make a frakin' show out of this!

I wouldn't call myself a CONSPIRACY THEORY nut or anything
but I'm agreeing with ALLOT of people on different Boards and
FB that it's DAMN odd for Sci-Fi to put such a show opposite
the premiere of the second half of THE WALKING DEAD !

:confused

I want more Sci-Fi badly, like ALLOT of folks. But I swear the
Execs put it at this time in order for it to FAIL ! I have no
doubt The Walking Dead will get HUGE ratings and
Blood & Chrome is going to tank and they will use the
lousy numbers as another " excuse " as to why theirs no
one that wants more Science Fiction on tv...
:darnkids

It's not a conspiracy theory. It's a PLOT. They want to make sure BSG stays dead, so they have it scheduled around the same time as TWD. They developed the game plan back when they cancelled Farscape. Farscape was getting great numbers on Friday nights, and then they changed the day and time where they knew fans wouldn't be able to watch the show, and as a result the numbers dropped to where they could cancel the show and then blame the fans for it. They did it the same way with Caprica (even reusing the same FAQs on the website), using Blood and Chrome as an excuse for their actions, only to then change their mind about it being an actual TV series. Now, they've scheduled it within the same timeframe so that they know the numbers would be low and they could abandon the entire franchise and blame the fans yet again.

They developed the playbook long ago. This is just them following it yet again.
