Browncoats: Redemption: Has anyone seen it?

Is it any good?
Anyone know where I could buy or borrow a copy?

Well, there are two loaded questions!

First, is it any good:
That depends on your frame of reference.
Compared to a Hollywood movie or studio TV show; no.
Compared to some of the SyFy channel movies I've seen; eh.
Compared to most fan films; upper half.

It is easy to criticize because it is the first film most of the folks involved ever made.

If you search the web you'll get lots of opinions.
Mine is that it is very watchable for the hardcore Browncoat fan.
A little over the top for in-jokes.
Decent story, acting and production values.
Poor sound and camera work.
For what it is and what it represents, I'm glad I have it.
I have a costumers credit for contributing a few sets of Alliance armor.
I have some info in my Firefly Fan Film Roundup thread here

Getting a copy; a little tough.
Most of the hardcore fans have a copy they intend to keep.
I imagine a huge number were bought at conventions by casual fans
who were probably only so-so interested and would sell if asked, BUT
they probably don't "do" any of the Firefly boards
(like FIREFLYFANS.NET - Home)
and thus it is hard to find someone giving up a copy.
The original producers were limited in their production and sales window
and are no longer allowed to sell BC:R DVD's.
You'll probably need to find an online friend who can burn you a backup copy.
(Sorry, that wouldn't be me; time and equipment limitations.)
Good luck in your hunt for a copy, like the DVD "Done the Impossible", BC:R is part of being in the club.

I didn't realise there was a time limitation on the sales, or I'd suggest getting one at something like Dragon*Con. It's where I got mine.

Thats why I couldnt find them online! As a hardcore Browncoat, I'm still interested in seeing it!

I'm a member of the Firefly board (although haven't posted).

I have the means and time to make a back-up copy, and I don't expect anyone to trust me by sending me theirs - unless it's someone that actually has done business with me :)

I don't do cons,so I'm gonna have to be patient. One will turn up.

BTW, I didn't mean to ask loaded questions; I'm honestly interested in seeing it. The imdb review wasn't very kind; yours is a great deal more helpful.

I didn't mean you meant anything negative by your (perfectly reasonable) questions;
just that answering them is kinda tough
given all the mitigating factors of the production and sales of a studio tolerated fan film.

I'm sure you'll get a copy one o' these days!

If you attend any of the Can't Stop the Serenity events, you might find an organizer selling an extra copy.

I know some of the cast personaly. I will contact them and see if they still have some copies left and let you know.
