Well I have not obtained one yet, but one of several things could have happened. A led has come unsoldered from the board, or you cracked the board, and the connections are no longer..connecting! First I would check the battery compartment for disconection, then work your way through the circuit board for cracks. If there is one ( and you have some soldering experance ) bridge the broken circuit connections with wire, to complete the circuit ( where it is broke ).
That's really about all you can do. If it don't work, than it won't matter if you try right! You could even save the shell of the disk, if the interest for the light kits become availble in the junkyard!
Oh! and check each one of the LED's to make sure they are soldered to the board ( the one's that don't work that is ). You may just have to solder them back in place, cause they have broken loose
