hey i recently bought a P1 bio from bond, on getting it i found the lower jaw had been broken from the crown and 3 large chunks above the eyes had been broken out and glued back in it sat for 2 days niggling me so on saturday i said stuff it im sorting it so i went down to the garage bio in one hand and a fresh batch of resin and cloth and went to work.
first of all i took all of the existing glue off i could, in the process actually braking the jaw from the crown so i went with the flow and completly removed all the broken peices till the mask was in about 5 chunks (not a pretty sight and i dont want to do it again EVER!) then i carefully put all the bits together tacking them in place with thin cyno then flipped over the mask carefully and gave it a thick coat of resin followed by glass cloth follwed by for resin then it was left to dry over night.
after that some good'ol P38 filler was forced into every inperfection i could see and grafted on the front to even up some of the original masks imperfections then after about 4 hours of sanding and filing it was ready for primer all went well until i came to paint to i hand brushed it silver wet and dry sand paper all over follewed by another coat, then added a black wash and went to wash my hand i only left it a couple of minutes came back in and much to my own shock the wash has DRIED!, AH i panic and grabed a cloth and really went at it wiping a much as i could off even in some parts going down to the black primer this is where i really paniced but i kept at it for 30 mins the put it down and took a step back and said cool it created and really worn weathered effect that ive never made before
long story short it went from this
