I want to draw up in Adobe Illustrator some hieroglyphics and have it laser cut or maybe engraved to make some pages for my Mummy Book of the Dead. But I'm not seeing much reference out there. If you have any good photos of the pages please post them here or send me a PM. Thanks !
Back in the 1890's Budge reprinted the entire Scroll of Ani - more commonly known as The Book Of The Dead. The original is in a museum in England. A few years back there was a push to get digital copies of all the old books in digital format so when the originals turn to dust we still have record of them. Here's a link to the books. Since I'm on my cell phone, I can't check which one of these is what you're looking for, but it's one of the first 7 in the list.
I am glad I found this because I am currently in the process of designing a spring loaded Book of the Dead and Book of Amun-Ra complete with all 6 pages attached to their respective 'hinges". I was going to start an interest thread but I suppose this is the perfect way to begin getting the word out.
I've worked with Universal Studios on many occasions over the years (including all 3 Mummy movies) and have frequent access to both of the hero books. Because of this, I have been making molds of each individual part (of the books) as I can over the years. The only parts that I am unable to make molds of are the spine pieces of the books. I have been making diagrams/notes on the books so that I can eventually replicate them. I might offer them for sale if the interest is high enough. Universal is VERY adamant about not letting go of these books, so gaining access to make the molds can become a lengthy process. The only molds that I do not have are of the individual pages. There are 12 total pages that need molds made, so it is difficult to gain access to the books for that length of a time. But I will eventually, and hopefully soon. If anyone is interested or wants further info let me know.
The screen used pages that division6 saw for sale were on the Prop Store of London's website. The expired auctions can be found under their "archive" section. Here are the photos:
