Unlimited Run Blade Runner - Deckard's Blaster (Version 3)

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

I agree with toothboy's idea (despite his disturbing avatar).

I think the screw idea is fine. On most of my resin kits I do just that...cut out the resin screws and glue in a screw head for added realism.

If the screws are readily available locally for most I'd say just let us get the screws. But if they are a wonky size/type then of course we would appreciate you offering them to us!!! :)

So a vote for me on just leaving the screw holes without screws.

Looking fantastic btw

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Leave open hole's' I have screw's. that's my vote..

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Holes are fine, but if you can provide the screws it will save me looking for them (and possibly getting the wrong ones).

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Update: Found almost all the screws! Bought 7 boxes of screws, about 3 or 4 different types needed. Couldn't find the super small slotted set screws, we'll just build them into the model

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

You can find everything at McMaster Carr.

Looking like a fun project!

I don't think you can get a clean checkered pattern from the printer.

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Would love one of these ! With screws would be nice ...

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Prototype #2 is done and it's awesome! We've got moving triggers, a bolt that opens, a cylinder that hinges and opens and a functional battery and LED compartment. Pictures to follow

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Here's some pics of prototype #2, it's really close to being done. Just a few fit and finish things. I only had the "natural" plastic, so these pics don't show off the detail like they should, I'll do the final version in white plastic. I can't believe we got the bolt to open and the cylinder to swing down

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Ok, now I want one. How the $$$ going? I'm fairly flexible on price as long as it doesn't go thru the roof.

I'd like to keep this the same as my other guns, $150 plus shipping. If people want LEDs, a switch, and all the bolts, that will have to be extra. I'll have to price that out, should have an better idea on that price soon, but I'm guessing $10-15

Thanks

That is looking sharp. Nice work on the cylinder and moving bolt!

Thanks

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

Two question's If I may. which gun will come first this or the Mal? and Is It possible to give even a rough time frame on needing cash. I would't push for the last question. but I think there's going to be a dentist In my near future...ooohhhcchee...

This will definitely be 1st, we're 99% there. Mal's gun is probably a month away. Good luck with the dentist

Thanks man. I'm thinking I may have to drop out of this one. missed nine hour's work today. couldn't deal with the pain and work. that and dentist money set's me back for at least two week's. and I'm guessing your run will commence before then.

So I sincerely apologize and hope to still get In on the mal gun...
Sorry man...

Sean..

Re: 3D Printed Blade Runner Gun Kit

We got texture on the grips!! I'm still deciding how I'll handle the translucent grips. My feeling is that the kit will come with the "standard issue" black grips. If you want translucent orange, I've been talking with @Biggeek1972, and we're exploring him casting my grips into a tinted resin. Will let you know as we get closer.

No worries at all, I'm sure (like the Samaritan) I'll end up doing a few runs. Hop on a later run
