Blade Runner 2049

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Fingers crossed.

Blade Runner is just too perfect to mess with!

Do not want.

If they make the worst movie ever, I will still love Blade Runner. It is worth the risk because I need to see more of that world. I need more neo-noir cyber-punk dystopian philosophical dramas on dark rain soaked urban streets with Vangelis score in the background. If anyone other than Ridley were making it, I would be worried.

Can you imagine seeing all new Blade Runner merchandise in stores?!

I'm pretty sure this place will EXPLODE with prop activity at the first sighting of a pic from the set. I will have my paypal account ready for whoever makes a run of whatever! lol

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Sorry man. Been down that road one too many times, and it almost always seems to lead to heartbreak.

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Deckard was a Nexus 6? WTF?? :confused

:cry

This is the reason why we don't need another Blade Runner movie...

Now that may have been an off the cuff cheeky response but can you imagine if that question was answered? That would really hurt the movie for me. The beauty of it is not knowing for sure.

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Prometheus has prepaired me for the fact there wont be a CRT monitor in sight. Mmmm... new spinners.

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Well, there's no way Harrison Ford will be in it. Not playing Deckard at any rate. Iwould be nice to see what happened to the other Bladerunners and why Deckard is the only one left.

Whatever the movie turns out to be, I can still pop in my DVD of the Directors cut of BR and be happy in the end, same as I did for Prometheus.

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Completely agree. I don't think many Alien fans watched the original movie and wondered about the origin of the human race. That's why I worry what Scott will do with a new Blade Runner film. I think it's a mistake for directors to go back and try and redefine their earlier work, even if they feel audiences didn't 'get' what they were trying to do the first time. If there is a fan base for a film, it's there because of how those fans actually perceived the movie, not for what they failed to be see. I'd hate to see Scott explain that the Nexus 6 replicants were powered by Midichlorians.

I didn't think Prometheus was bad, but it didn't really add to the story in any significant way IMO. It explained a bunch of things that didn't need explaining.

I think even those that don't like Prometheus very much would agree that it is better than the prequel trilogy. I didn't see Ripley's dad building Ash.

re: Blade Runner Sequel

Thank goodness SRS is not the kind of person who fails to take the journey for the fear of failure or condemnation of the worlds he creates. He`s come through the Prometheus storm brilliantly, the naysayers have had no impact, commercially, he is gold.

Humphrey Bogart summed up the significance of remakes best when he stated "We`ll always have Paris"

re: Blade Runner Sequel
