Limited Run BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat - NOW SELLING

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat

There's some better images coming out now, and I think I've figured out the design as well. There are some cheap coat places online that have it all wrong :)

I'm in if it is Leather, It is either a thin Leather or a faux leather, there is no way it is a waxed Cotton, waxed cotton does not react like in these screen grabs. That CG image on page one is not something to go off of, there are so many window reflections and it is not a photo. The Entertainment magazine photo is better , go off of the film screen grabs. I'll ask the costume designer on my show if she knows the costume designer on the film and get a definitive answer. But seeing these images its not cotton.
My 2 cents.

In the movie, it is absolutely not leather, I'm now convinced of it. I'm not saying I won't offer a leather version, because if there's demand for it, I can offer it.

But check this blown up shot of the texture.

It's without a doubt a woven cloth of some type.

Also as a comparison, here's a picture of a waxed cotton jacket looking pretty similar.

That is not an image from the film, who knows what or when that photo shoot took place, and how it's been doctored, I'm just saying, but yes your blow up of what ever that is, is a woven cloth. I'll ask my costume designer on Monday if she can help us find out . But if where me I wouldn't go off that image.

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat

I think its still waxed cotton, leather doesn't seem to fit bill, this coat reminds me alot of the rorschach from the watchmen movie and even that behaved alot like leather. already we are seeing knock of sweat leather shops trying to reproduce this in leather and it looks like garbage. just my 2 cents. the thickness of the coat is lining imo

Well if you have a connection you can ask, that's awesome! I'll love to hear what they say!

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat

100% waxed cotton, as joshspiderman23 said its just like the Rorschach coat used in watchmen, just with some padding. Im not a huge fan of blade runner by any means but i am extremely interested in the upcoming film.
The coat is amazing and would look great in winter so im interested pending price....

Yeah very interested in this dude

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat

Have we gotten a good look at the left front side of the jacket yet? Almost all of the quality shots have been of the right side, but it's clearly somewhat asymmetrical in the lapel/collar area...

The collar is longer on the left side so it can wrap around the lower face/neck. Pretty cool design.

Any updates on when these might be available & how much?

Oh interesting! I had suspected that possibly the left-side lapel and collar was one unbroken piece of fabric, without a notch or slit...but based on what you're describing, I was probably just seeing the lapel lying overlapping the long portion of the collar, which effectively hid the break between lapel and collar.

I'm almost positive I understand the design, but I don't know how to describe it.

I'll start looking into getting a first sample made kinda soon. Sorry I don't have more specifics than that yet!
