Black Cat

Finished my Black Cat costume for Dragon*Con this year! After seeing the pictures, I want to cut the arm fur to make it thinner. I also intend to make fur trim for a pair of white gloves that I have so I can have a couple of different versions. :)

Great outfit.

At first I thought the black mask was makeup. It really sits tight to your face.

Do you have a face cast you worked from, or just incredible patience at adjusting things until they fit?

Thanks! I actually got the mask from Xtreme Design FX. Dwrd and I made a mask, but the one I bought looked better. Still, I'd like to try to make one that's more narrow.

Oh, so that was you !!

I was looking on Flickr over the weekend of Dragoncon photos and I kept wondering who that good-looking lady with an awesome Black Cat costume was.

Looks just like the character, just like all your other costumes. Great job !

Aww thanks. There were at least six of us at D*Con... and somehow I managed to get my picture with only one of them. :confused

Do you have a shot from the back? (nothing too dirty here, I just want to see the other side of the costume, it looks faboo from the front)

Great looking costume!! Can you wear that for extended periods of time, or do you need to let your skin breathe now and then?

I wore both Black Cat and Catwoman twice each last weekend... I kept BC on between 3-5 hours each time, and have won Catwoman much longer than that. (I wore CW pretty much all throughout AdventureCon in June.) The suit felt HUGE after I took that corset off after wearing BC for the first time... I felt like it was just hanging off of me. LOL

I really shouldn't keep the suit on too long because it doesn't breathe at all, but it's actually really comfy. The only time I start to fidget and want to change is if I sweat in the suit and/or get really cold in it. That sounds weird, but if you sweat in it even a little and get blasted with air conditioning, it gets really cold really quickly. The corset never really bothered me either.

Sunday afternoon/night I kept it all on for too long (especially the mask), cause I started feeling lightheaded. I walked through all three hotels and spent a lot of time outside. I think it was the mask more than anything, cause I left it on with the intention of putting the costume on again, so while I kept the suit on for about 3-4 hours, I had the mask on for 5 or 6. I ended up missing a heroes shoot that night cause I couldn't put it back on. :(

See! This is why I regret missing DC every year! ;)

Great costume! It's like an Adam Hughes drawing come to life!

Great job!
-B89! :D

I noticed you at the con. Yours was my fave of all the Black Cats I saw. I think it was the corset.Gave it that little extra touch. Another texture to break up the black.

hopefully my friend chris found you... he was usually dressed as mal from firefly, and was trying to get pics with all of the black cats he saw.

i do think yours looks more "finished" than many of the others were. like darth mule said, i think the corset gives it a great look.

Hm. I don't recall getting a picture with a Mal... :( But maybe I did and just forgot. ^_^

Thanks. I love the corset... it gives me the right curves and really breaks up the suit. Catwoman at least has the belt; Black Cat doesn't have anything. O.O
