Best Way To Sand Down Neopixel Blade

Hey guys I recently purchased a count dooku elf saber replica, it takes a 7/8th inch blade. I tried using the 7/8th inch blade from my 89 saber skinny flex and doesn’t fit. What would be the best method to sand this down without damaging the blade itself, I’m obviously quite in experienced so any help would be much appreciated cheers.

Use 1000 grit sandpaper and do it in stages to test it fits or not.
