Should have 3d model of a raised chest emblem shortly. Last experiment, I used MoldMax 30 in a box mold and cast a couple copies in VytaFlex 30 (tinted with SoStrong pigment). They turned out okay, but I didn't like the overall emblem and I failed to smooth out the surface of the model enough. So, starting from scratch again...
Is a box mold the best way to go assuming it is about a .6" thick/high at it's thickest point? If so, I'd definitely need to mount the model better, since I think I left significant gaps last time with my hot glue and some silicone got on the underside of the emblem. That was almost reason enough to discard v1!
I've also seen two part molds for these. Is that necessary? Wouldn't that leave a seam around the middle along the outside edge?
