Best source for quality ANH Solo bloodstripes

I'm looking for a nice quality set of red bloodstripes for my Solo ANH pants. I see some on Ebay. Anyone else have a good source? Thanks in advance.

Hey, That website... wasn't he banned from this forum for bad buisness dealings. I know that I never received the item that I ordered from him and that was back in 2003. I'm not looking to hijack your thread or bring up a past issue. I chalked it up that I would never see that item or that money. Has he changed his ways? Maybe patches are less complicated and you will receive them. I just know that my dealings with this fellow did not go so good.

I've had similar experiences with Joe a few years back... finally received my patches and stuff after almost a year of general outrage and a multitude of e-mails and PMs. Not recommended.

And yes, he was banned from here in 2004.

I recently ordered another set of patches from him and recieved them like a week later. It surprised me actually when I opened the package.

But the last order I had, in October of 2005, did take a while to be shipped. It was around Halloween, so I chalked it up ot high volume.

He may have problems. But honestly, there's not a ton of options for bloodstripes. There's those unproven iron-on stripes on eBay. Or you can learn how to do bar embroidering on a sewing machine. Or pay through the nose for someone else to do it.

If I'm not mistaken, Batninja ordered a set of the iron on ones from ebay. You'd have to talk to him, but IIRC, he said they were pretty craptacular.

Are the actual stripes themselves embroidered on Han's pants? Or are they more like pieces of fabric sewn onto the pants?

It's tough to say 100% since there's not a ton of reference for Han's pants. The ROTJ pants seen at FIDM and the like look to have a patch with the embroidery on it. But Mollo has said the ANH pants were embroidered directly on the pants.

I bought a pair of the iron-on stripes from eBay, thinking they'd be easier to work with, but they're just 'paint' that is affixed to an iron-on sheet. Speaking with a couple other costumers, I found this stuff is difficult to work with as far as attachment is concerned (iron has to be at a certain temp, you have to work at a certain pace, etc.).

Then I bought the afore-mentioned stripes from JK. I got them in a couple of weeks (not a huge delay), and they look a lot better. I intend to use these instead of the iron-on stripes.

I talked to someone last night, in town for the Rose Parade, from Vegas who know J Kerezman. Apparently, he was moving when all this 3 month order time happened. So, the shipping should be faster now. And there's some evidence of it being true (myself and one other person so far).

I know these aren't ANH, but I thought I'd take some comparison pictures of the two available sets.

Here are the JK stripes. Roughly 33" in length, they are actually two 18" stripes spliced together (see second pic).

I intend to fold the edges over (to hide the serger lines), and have them machine-stitched onto my pants.

And here are the eBay stripes. Again, they are nothing more than a 'paint' iron-on, approximately 35" in length. With a little patience, these may be easier to add to existing pants than the JK ones, but aren't very accurate. Sorry for the excessive flash.

I didn't want to mention it before (with the 'banned member' prohibition), but I received the JK stripes in less than a couple weeks.

That's what I did with mine. Looks great.

Should the bloodstripes go from the top of the waist band to the bottom edge of the pants? I realize the bootom end is fairly irrelevant as they will be vovered by boots. I'm more concerned with where they should start at the top.

See how the top of the blood stripes patch is empty. I left that in the "belt lop area" of the pants. It will be covered by the belt so no need for stripes. The stripes then started right below the belt line. The stripes extended down to around my mid calf. Obviously, the end being hidden in my boots.

If you are going to embroider or add the stripes yourself, I'd say start right below the belt line and then mark a few inches into your boots, say 3-4, and do the stripes between those points.

No need to kill yourself going to the bottom cuff of the pants. You won't see the stripes much below the knees anyway.

I don't feel that it was a Banned Memeber prohibition. Bat Ninja I have an item that you made it's great quality and your very good to deal with. I would point anyone in your direction if they needed something that you have. But all I was doing was just telling another member to be careful because It's been 3 years and I haven't seen my item or the money. But as I reasearched my old emails. I orginally ordered the item from Dark Shadow. He was having problems and JK took over all his orders. All I know it's been over three years and neithier dark shadow nor JK have produced an item that I gave dark shadow $400.00 dollars for. I know $400.00 dollars is not a extremely large amount but it's not fun to pay this and not get anything in return.

J Kerezman seems to have been more reliable with shipping these patches at least.

There's currently a set on ANH stripes up on eBay. Not the iron-on kind.
