Best and Worst Werewolf Transformations

My picks:

BEST
1. American Werewolf in London
2. The Howling
3. The Wolfman remake (although I hate most CGI)

WORST
1. Blood and Chocolate
2. Van Helsing
3. Twilight

I liked the bone crunching, painful to look at transformation of the Lycans in the first Underworld. The rest were never successful to recapture that, though.

Best transformations

1. American werewolf in London
2. The Howling
3. The Wolfman (remake)

Honourable mention to 'Dog Soldiers'. It doesn't really feature any out and out transformation scene, but it's too good a werewolf film to leave off any list.

Worst transformations are too numerous to list.

The Howling also has one of the worst....Dee Wallace's at the end.
Worst- American Werewolf in Paris.

On the best, I'd add Micheal Jackson's Thriller (after the post production sound effects, of course). A lot the credit is due to Rick Baker's work.

Agreed about the Dee Wallace transformation. It's like they ran out of money and decided to put an Ewok mask on her.

I haven't seen many movies containing werewolves, but I'm gonna have to say that Teen Wolf was pretty bad, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was really well done.

For me

AWIL
The Wolfman
The Howling
and because it scared the crap out of me as a kid....Curse of the Werewolf.

When Leon transforms in the jail cell and then turns towards the camera, made this six year old crap his pants and have nightmares.

sancturary , for the worst werewolves period , and american werewolf in london for the best , what rick baker did in that movie was amazing , and i still dont see why they went with cgi on the new wolfman , when they had the master working for them

I felt the same way before seeing the movie, but the CG transformation was very well done and was very complimentary to Rick's makeup. It was very subtle and not over the top.

Another vote here for the original Howling as one of the best. Teen Wolf was awful! I remember thinking "oh great it's Chaka from the Land Of The Lost".

the Lon Chaney Jnr transformation has to be right up there surely!!!

im being serious, movie technology ahead of its time that set a standard/ benchmark for all future Transformation's

I love the original Wolfman Simon - one of my all time fave movies.

By today's standards, it's very clumsy, but in it's day it was cutting edge.

Respect to Jack Pierce.(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Definately Al, and although not part of this Threads subject matter there is the very old Movie Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde transformation too.

i think American Werewolf in London is the best by far.

How about Thriller pretty good for a pop video and very Forgetable is Leviatán (Monster Dog) featuring non other than Alice Cooper, its so awful its .............. nahhh its very bad :lol
