So all,

what did you make of the series finale?? Personally I thought it was great, I was fairly speechless for at least 10 minutes after!!

unfortunately I couldnt say I thought this about the whole series, I thought the biginning was strong, but the middle lost its way slightly.

~Great show though

It would have been better if the Old Ones hadn't shown up and left another cliffhanger. Just have George do the deed and wrap the show up, it would have been a really fitting and emotional ending. I thought it lost some of its power ending like it did, and another series will be pushing it.

Great show though, I've really enjoyed the whole series. Last week's epi was a high-mark for UK horror, imho.

Just finished watching it. Yeah, if there's no fourth series I think that'd be a plus at this point. The Old One did slow things down but also provided the opportunity for George to do the deed in a twist-ish (if you're kind of slow on the uptake) way. It was MASSIVELY telegraphed, but still effective, don't get me wrong.

I'd have liked to see the aftermath of the slaughter at the bed and breakfast. How the hell did the vampire cops get THAT cleaned up? Why are Annie and co. able to resume occupation at all, let alone that rapidly? Lots of plot holes, but the cast are good enough to mostly sell it.

Writing out Mitchell was pretty obviously inevitable from Series 2 onwards, so it's almost anticlimactic getting it over and done with. I didn't shed any tears; they were too effective in writing him weak, self-serving and stupid over the last couple of series. Pity, as he was a lot more likeable in Series 1.

Writing out McNair was a much bigger bummer!

Writing out McNair was a much bigger bummer!

Yup, that was pretty weak. For a show that is generally brilliantly written, they make some dumb calls - the above mentioned return to the house, Nina not smelling the carnage after the police massacre and the most badass werewolf in town jumping on a knife :unsure

series 4 has been announced, Im at work at the mo, but will post details later

I wonder if Mitchell will be back??

I'd rather he wasn't. He really became a hateable character over the last two series. Not only that, but they specifically stated you can't come back from being staked. I know, I know, it's fantasy, but it'd be a bit shark-jumpey to bring him back after going to that length.

Then again, it'd be consistent with the Annie thing from S2/3, so, whatever.

Now, I'll have to watch the ending again. Did the show Mitchell turn to dust? Wasn't he staked, but not in the heart before?
The writers did well if they got you to hate the character, didn't they? To think, he was more evil than Herrick.

Dusted, totally.

I'd be happy with that argument if I was completely confident it was deliberate. :p

Seriously, were they writing him as this much of a wishy-washy berk, at the mercy of his urges, in Series 1? I can't recall, have to re-watch it. But they definitely dumbed him down a good deal in 2 and 3, and his general attitude and approach isn't exactly consistent with what you might expect from a 117-y.o. mass-murdering ex-soldier. He's a total mess.

As for evil, I wonder, was it that which Herrick saw in him? Just plain ol' chaotic evil?

well i finally got caught up with all of season 3 today and I have to say I was really happy about it. The ending i knew was coming but still caught me a bit off guard. I like Mitchell, hell i even bought fingerless green gloves cause of him (don't judge me) lol. But all in all he was too dramatic about a lot things and it felt right that they killed of whinny Mitchell.

Im thinking in season 4, they will bring him back of course, but he will have no memory of who he is and what's happened. much like Herrick, he will have amnesia and Annie and the lot will try and get him back. Would be a shame i think to split up the three friends. 2012 is still far off away im afraid lol

I was sort of relieved that they did the deed and dusted Mitchell, I was expecting for them to pull away but they went straight back. That was nice.

Can a vampire become a ghost? In the Being Human universe that is. Does seem a shame to break up the original cast, they have to write in a new character and make the audience like the character. If anyone watches Spooks, their cast changes almost every other episode, and after a while you get tired of getting to know a new character and eventually lose interest.

And does Aidan Turner look like the oldest 27 year old?
