Hi guys.
Been pretty busy this year with working on several costumes Inbetween my design jobs. Every year at London's MCM
Expo I try to raise the bar a little bit higher and this year was no different. As a freelance designer, Cosplayer and keen
photographer I manged to bump into these guys at a con in July for a photo shoot.

As you can see they are bang on to the characters and I had to double take. Check out their facebook here, incredible attention to detail and photos of the events and cosplays. After adding them on facebook the Maitlands project was born so I got to work.
First of all I needed the right man for the masks. Living in the UK has one huge advantage and one is that Special FX companys are not hard to come by. I decided to contact My friend Steve Hollins at Grotesque Effects for a quote on Both Adam and Barbara.
After coming to an agreement and PMing each other reference pics and Ideas, a week later I was greeted with these images in my inbox
Barbara's Sculpt

Adams Sculpt

I was blown away by Steves work but as a fan and stickler for detail I noticed the bottom jaw was missing
from Adams. Once that was pointed out I left steve to work his magic.
2 weeks later I had this in my inbox.
Barbara

Adam

I was speechless they were perfect. Since these photos were taken the wig of Adams was changed for a better
quality one (as you will see in the final result)
When my mask arrived I was dying to try it on so I did just that...and it fit like a glove, not too tight and plenty of room
to breathe. Behold

Next was the dress (Yep I was doing Barbara :lol )
This was a nightmare because apart from the image on My Props an Prop Store I had no brand to go on. After literally months I found this little gem on Evilbay in a size 12. Excuse the pic of me looking all manly in it XD

Well I had the dress, mask, tights and all that remained was shoes. Not many shops do size 12's for women so I settled for slippers as they were larger sizes. Anyway without further ado here are our finished cosplays.
The Maitlands Check in But they Don't check out :lol

At the con with the girls and Adam AKA Mark. Check out his cosplay page here

We had loads of fun as you can see and must have posed for over 1000 photos. The Maitlands will return
Thanks for looking
