BB8 Builders...a hypothetical question for you

Hey guys

I have a question for anyone who's built a full size BB8. I've seen a few build videos and I have a basic understanding of how they work. What I'd like to know is: would it be possible to make a radio controlled sphere, minus the head dome that BB8 has, but have it so that when it stops rolling it always falls back/rests on a specific point, ie when it stops it is always resting with its [designated 'front marker'] facing forward? If so, how would that be achieved?
