Battlestar Galactica

Thanks, but that's actually not the one I'm looking for. I'm looking for the font used for the ID number on this:

4_x_2_one_half.jpg

I managed to get close enough with another font, but at some point I'd like to correct it. I'd be willing to trade a finished ID (front and custom-designed back, laminated) for the correct font if you've got it.

My first version is shown in this thread: http://www.therpf.com/f13/screen-accurate-battlestar-galactica-ids-106892/#post1537551

And yes, for my public speaking class. I needed to show the process involved in making or replicating a paper prop from beginning to end, and so I picked the ID.

Thanks, DBCooper. PhoenixVader told me what the font was and gave me a link to it, but you get credit too. When I get my design to where I'm happy enough with it to do a set of them, I'll let you know. First set that I do is going to be free for everyone involved.

Thanks for the nod. Your project looks great.

Thanks for the share on this card.

Here it is, my finished ID Card. Must thank Ceric Neesh for motivating me into getting this done. I have wanted to odo one for a long time and never got around to it. Sometimes it is more fun when more than one person is working on the same thing. I made mine Baltar specific since I have many of his papers and passport.

The back was made up by me due to the fact that there are no images of it. I used the text from Ceric Neesh, hope you don't mind.

It was fairly easy once I completed the graphics and text. I used PVC Card. Printed the front and back onto white matte finish vinyl adhesive pages and then coated the image with clear laminating sheets. Cut them out slightly larger than the card. When applying these watch the dirt and the BUBBLES. Can't see it in the pics but they are there. My second one was better but crooked, ugh! Once it was all together I trimmed the edges with a razor and then trimmed the corners with sheers. Finally I lightly sanded the edges, 220 sand paper. Finished.

Looks and feels pretty good. Just wonder what is the color sceam. Here are the references I used:

Thank Bear. Yes, I did make all of the Baltar documents. I even have a completed pamphlet of his with text made from the Communist Manifesto.

I am trying to finish up a few other documents now that I am on a BSG kick. I would love to work on some of Roslin's Galactica portfolio.

Here is another project I would love to do. Need better picks but this is the best I can find.

This guy took three picks of this. They enlarge extremely big but are at an angle.

Me again. I just finished the Cylon Blood Report. I found the actual article they used in the show for the filler.

Here are the reference pics:

Not the most exciting prop but there it is. Very exact, if I do say so myself. Needs a little tweek on the photo pages with size but that is all.

OK, Looking for some of you eagle eyes to help out. I am making an attempt to repro the Pilot ID as seen in Kara's record jacket.

Here it is, now lets put our heads together and decipher what we are looking at. Text, graphics, the works. When done I will post the high res jpg here.

thanks in advance.

To start off, the the Text on the orange part.

PILOT IDENTIFICATION
AND CLEARANCE

NAME: KARA THRACE

RANK: Lieutentant
First Class

I believe the graphic in the upper right is the Galactica seal, but not sure.

under the picture

line one ???
line two possibly BLD TYP: Y+
line three ???
line four ????
line five HT: ??
line six WT: ??
line seven ? possibly EYES: BL then ???

I am sure some of the text should read out here DOB and Hair color, but not sure where. There should also be a date of issue and expiration date.

Sounding good so far.

I believe to the right of where it says Lieutentant it may read -

"CL: VP MK II"

Then under that it looks like -

"GEN: AV ???"

I am not sure of the last three characters. Also the Colonial Seal is most likely the one seen on Kara's mother's letter about her cancer. Reads -

COLONIAL FORCES

Propworx - 1003/Lot 375 - Socrata Thrace Medical Assessment Letter - Hero Version

All sizes | BSG Prop auction II - Small Items | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

The upper left item looks to be some sort of shield. Will check this out further this weekend. We may be taking some artistic license with this one.

Yes sir, it is. I love it. It adds a little different flavor to the group of documents.

I have wanted to do the other two "Vote for Baltar" flyers but have not been able to find the correct pictures. They should be very easy to do if not for the pics. May have to attempt screen grabs.

Thanks for the Laura Roslin flyer.

Cool. Like I said, I'm always happy to know someone's putting it to good use for their collections.

Yeah, trying to do paper props are always a challenge, especially if you don't have clear shots of them. I know that Bobatrek did the National Geographic cover from the final episode, but I actually was looking for the right skull image, if not a clear shot of the actual cover, to use to make one. So, I completely understand.

And you're very much welcome. I'm just glad to see someone's enjoying it. :D

Working on some ID papers. Tried this tonite.

CapricaCertofBirth.jpg

Wasn't sure of the color of the background. Top is printed onto blue cardstock and laminated. Bottom left has the blue color printed onto white cardstock and the bottom right is printed onto white. I am sure it is on white after viewing all the picks I can find and some videos and blogs. Also just noticed the word "CAPRICA" written across the front. Need to add that.

Here is a reference. Would love to see the passport done. Tried bidding on the Adama set the other nite. It went for $100 USD. Wonder if anyone here got it?

Sorry PhoenixVader, I will try and pick up on the Thrace ID soon. Needed to switch gears for a while.
