Battlestar Galactica

Hello! Nice work that you guys have done! I am a little slow on the uptake as only getting into BSG this year, but thought I would have some fun recreating some paper props. (even though most have been done by now) I did this from prop works auction pics. Its the Eversun Luxury Liners Tickets. I also did the sleves. But I was mainly curious if anyone has seen the backs? Thanks!

That's a really great copy! I love the "Invalid Unless Alcohol Consumed" bit. I picked up the tickets in the auction, so let me know if you need any close up photos of it.

EDIT: I actually did take some photos before putting them in the frame. Here are some of the close-ups.

Awesome! They look great framed. I love the display.

Nice photos, very close.

Is there anything on the back of the tickets?

..........you had to say that, didn't you? :D

*resist urge to check....RESIST*

I didn't take a photo, but I do believe it was plain, or had some small phrasing. I know there wasn't anything big on it, that's for sure.

Cheers,

Guy

P.S. Thanks for the compliment. I've got some older pics of all the paper props displayed in this room, which will be changing a bit after I pick up a new, larger display case this Xmas.

Legion,

That rooms is incredible. It is amazing. Everything fits together so well. The old Rome and the Battlestar Galactica side by side are not out of place in any way. Superb job.

LOL!

Thomas, you'll get a kick out of this. The bottom left of your image is the schematic of the ship. Here's the "original."

This is the productions final laser print, which would then become the translight seen in the episode "Valley of Darkness." It has the red marks on it where you'll see Tigh doing it in the episode itself.

I loved that schematic so much I had it blown up by a Propworx member into a psuedo-translight for my desk I made. I never got around to making it a true translight, but have it under plexi at the moment.

Phoenix Vader I really want the ship image and the engineering sheet but for some reason your photos only seem to be partially loading for me is there another place that I can view or save the images from?

Hmmm, just right click and select view image, it should display the entire image for you. If not, PM me with your email address.

Indeed it is! Query: how did you manage to get so many images? It took a member of the Propworx forum, Plowking, working on re-mastering the auction image, in order to get what you see on the desk. I was given the laser print afterwards, when it surfaced during the procurement of BSG items after the end of the show. Do you have each of these items? I know that there were only two times that the Eversun tickets were auctioned off, and I have one of the two sets. The images are really good, and I love this cross-over event we have going on here with these props.

:)

P.S. I had it in mind, when I built this desk last summer, to make the top "thicker" to allow the building of a translight portion, which would lay flat within the desktop, and include the Galactica schematic and maybe one or two other items. Sadly, time was short, and this was the result. It's on that "to do" list that keeps growing for this coming summer break.

Legion,

I spent over 1000 hours in photoshop working with the auction images and from sources of the real items. I am very happy with the outcome and had a blast doing them. All my images are done in 300 dpi so the print very nicely.

I recently got a peek at the real deal on some of the docs and I am now working on correcting some things on my documents that will make them even more accurate. ;)

Too bad the demand for BSG had dropped or I might have done another run, but that is the way this hobby goes. ;)

thomas;)

PS I look forward to seeing more of your collection.

Its fun doing these things - with the tickets I agree with Legion, I like the Alcohol Consumed line! Its cool that you were able to snag the real deal! I also think its funny that they use the star trek font on part of the ticket. Thanks for the detail pics. It should help me to tweak the colors.

I'm planning to get the BSG done as a poster, a lot of the other things I have saved done with cardstock, vellum, some of the things I'll take the label off a alcohol bottle and put one of these labels on it, the ID cards and Visitor passes I'll get laminated with brass pieces for the holes (can't think of what they are called mind drawing a blank) and get all this stuff on my wall or most of it anyway.

FIgures. Never thought I'd need any of the stuff on that disk, until today, I need to replicate an ID card from the show for one of my classes and don't have the right font, and it's due tomorrow.

/facepalm
