The 23rd of this month is the opening of the BSG Ehxhibition at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle. I've been working on this show for the last 9 months, and it's going to be rad. Both 1:1 vipers will be on display, as well as the cylon raider. There will also be as many screen used costumes and props as we can cram into the exhibition space. There is also some stuff from the original series for the hardcore.
It will be up for 18 months, but the opening on the 22nd will be the night to come. Several cast members and creators will be there, as well as contests and a bar. You have to be a member to attend the opening night, but it's pretty reasonable, so come check it out.

I was going to go but I'm shipboard for the month.

Did you enjoy putting the Raider together? Be grateful you did not have to do the Blackbird...

The raider was a challenge, but there's nothing I'd rather be doing. We wanted to get the blackbird too, but sadly had nowhere to put it. NBC told us it was mostly one giant piece though.

It's more like 4 big ones then some small parts. The wings are heavy and the nose is tweeked. We were told 4 people could put it together, 10 people and a pry bar later it was assembled.

Damn. Did you buy it or work on it? I really would have liked to get to see it, and the raptor, but that thing is really huge.

Wish I lived closer...... best of luck with the exhibit, take lots of snaps for me.

If you could get a Jamie Bamber (or anyone from the cast actually) shot beside a Viper I would be very grateful :p

cheers!

*Hey ya never know unless you ask

I'll be there preview night, and mostly all weekend. More than likely in my viper flight suit. (but damn the flight suit is WARM)

Yeah, it's hot in a rubber jumpsuit. We found a little pocket electric fan in the cockpit of the Mk2, presumably for that reason.

I hope some great pics of the exhibit get posted for those of us who can't visit. Some museums disallow photography in some or all exhibits, which is unfortunate because pictures in no way substitute for real museum visits and can only improve business (as well as help us poor souls who can't visit in person).

I heard that photography isn't allowed at the Sci-Fi Museum........if thats true I have no desire to ever go there.

That used to be the policy at the SFM. (never stopped me) They have since come to thier senses and now allow photography.

I'm going to have to get up there before the exhibit is gone, I don't care if it's on the other side of the country. :lol
