Yes.. it's a pretty iconic pharonic head crest. Along with the vulture... which would have been cool too. Maybe a creative endeavour for the sculptors out there?

Not trying to derail the thread, but are patches done of the different battlestars?
Since the clusters were "real" military, I always thought that some of the other patchs and icons were too...

I believe the different colored patches are for different color squads. Red Squad, Blue Squad, Purple, and Orange and so forth.

This is a really cool thread, I loved the original series on ABC, and I waited with so much anticipation for the new series on Sci-fi channel and wow was it the biggest let down i have ever experienced, cheap, corny, not even close to the original. These helmets were an example of Why battlestar galactica was so popular when I was a kid, and also why they cancelled it, They put enormous amounts of money in on incredible props, costumes and effects, not like the cheesy computer generated stuff and cheap costumes of the new one..
Any body remember the suede leather battlestar galactica jackets that were available in STARLOG and FANTASTIC FILMS magazines?? If anyone could post a pic of those here, that would really bring back memories!!!!!

The jackets sold in Starlog were way worse than those! :lol
Actually, the worst thing about them was the color- They were done in this weird tan-ish greenish denim, but I saw one that one of the old Fyberdyne guys re-dyed that looked fairly good. He just dyed the whole thing brown, and it darkened the shoulders to where they needed to be, and made the tan parts the medium brown they should have been.
