Battlestar Galactica 2003 scratch build

Attached the head and did some patch work on the joint but it’ll need a little more to hide it sufficiently

Looks great. I see you've corrected for the flaw in the small one. The middle section 'mouth part' if you will, is too high on the Revell version, and I'm guessing the same goes for the moebius one, making the 'head' not flush with the neck section.

I'm amazed how much the detail stands out on those sections with a little paint on em.

This is such an impressive project, I do envy you. Well... When your done I'll envy you.

Thanks Brian,
It’s been tedious for sure. I kinda scanned the site for mobius builds and caught that thing about the neck and reworded it. I’m coming up on 8 months with this thing pretty much working non stop. I’m glad I’m getting closer to the end. But I will say it’s been extremely challenging and satisfying at the same time

OK I think I got the transitions smoothed over pretty good once the paints on there it won’t be so noticeable. Also tonight I made a little gun mount blocks and drilled the smallest holes I could find and snipped off little 8th inch pieces of what is left off of resistors and made Gun barrels. I’m pretty sure these defensive guns are mounted just above the viper launch tubes so if I’m incorrect about this somebody chime in and let me know lol

Looks great... I think you're right.

I found this:

Point defence guns. It's hard to make out but I think there's two barrels per gunmount, and two gunmounts between each rib?
Ok cool, did what I could given the scale. I was thinking recently that I should have built this half again bigger, like 1/1500 or so. Would have been a lot more work but I also could have gone wild with the detail. I’ll do the Pegasus in the same scale as this one of course so they’re a set but now that I’ve got all this under my belt the Pegasus won’t be so sloppy lol

Brother this thing is so impressive... Please don't read my comment as anything but the upmost respect, I mean common everything is scratch build ffs... That is bad ass.

You keep saying it's sloppy, but that thing has NO straight lines anywhere... Which just makes your effort even more impressive.

I hope you'll consider using MDF for the framing and insides of the Pegasus. It'll be a lot cheaper.

Believe me it’s sloppy, I don’t show you guys the sloppy stuff LOL
But it should look pretty good once it’s all painted up. Yes I’m definitely going to use that other stuff on the Pegasus when I start that next fall and I think I may frame that one out of some thing else unless that stuff you’re talking about is structurally sound enough. Anyway we’ll see

They were thinking risk and profits. ;)
(Many times enthusiasts pester a company to market a kit, and never purchase the kit because they don't like the price.)
