Thanks my brother! I just really wanted one that was bigger that what’s available as a kit. However there’s a guy in South Africa that puts out a very nice resin kit that’s like 32”, but it’s also nearly 800 bucks plus freight

almost done with the flight pod recesses, just have to fit and lightly greeblie the ceiling panels. I realize a lot of this no one will probably be able to see anyway, but…

I hope the pics are something you can see, has a few miscalculations but I made the necessary corrections and pushed forward. Started on the flight pod supports and I had thought about engineering them to slide in/retract but it wouldn’t ever be displayed that was anyhow so they’re gonna be fixed.

Moving right along, got a good portion of the skeleton done today.
I think the section between the head and the lower jaw looks a little too thick so I’m gonna thin it down a bit. It’s almost to the point I’m going to have to string fiber optics and place the red LEDs on the flight pods or I’m not going to be able to get to em

I think your plan to make that lower part less thick will look better.

an alternative might just be to add more of a protruding lower "lip" in the from of the bottom piece

One problem area that many people attempt to fix with the Moebius kit is where the head meets the neck. At the top, there should be no step up or elevation difference
Might be too late to address that, but if not...

Also, some other ref pics in case you have not seen these. Supposedly these are the ZIOC renders used for the show

Started the structural ribbing last night and fitted some panel extensions to the top of the pod recesses so hopefully I’ll get the right curve to the hull…yeah, there’s no plan to this build, I’m wingin it

I’m all over the map with this thing, I start working on one thing and realize I need to route lights first. I’m sure it’s not “correct” but 5 of these red LEDs down through the pod recesses should at least give a sufficient effect

I wouldn't sweat it. I think the level of detail you are doing is perfect for it's size

Thanks brother, I’m re-watching the series again and just ran across a good shot of the pod recesses. The red lights are coming from the ceiling of the recesses and not the side walls…good thing it’s not too late to correct that

Made a lot of progress on the port side flight pod booms. Not what one couldn’t do better on a larger scale of course but sufficient to convey the spirit of things, as it were I also got the front hull curved panels going pretty good and will soon start to skin, rib and greeblie the port side and do my internal wiring work from the starboard side. The pod booms are of course left open and hollow for the wiring to feed what I hope will be rather spectacular lighting work in the flight pods
