Battlestar Galactica 2003 scratch build

I would say 1/700 or 1/1000 or so ship models. Lots of bit on there were used on the Star Destroyers for example

although it may be used to create little "modules" and then could make molds of them and use them here and there

Love what your doing! very inspiring!
i recently went down this road, i found lots of cool parts, & now that winters here i can put some to work.
* Madworks-Detail-Metal-Photo-Etch-Upgrade
* Anubis-Plastic-Detail-ZGMF-1000-Warrior
each one is just a single piece but it should supply lots of recommendations after that.
copy and paste in your amazon browser... after that its not my fault :)
im sure, this may make the gundam folks mad but there are some very cool parts here with multiples (ie left and rights)
hope this helps

that reminds me, The Metal Earth photo-etch sets have some cool stuff in them if they are cheap enough or you find them on clearance

One year I got an R2, Millennium Falcon and some others like the Eiffel Tower as gifts. I never built them, but looking through all the sheets, I found great potential for a lot of the parts as greeblie fodder, especially for things like vents or windows and piping

Yeah, I second the Metal Earth sets. They're fun builds on their own and I've always had extra parts left over that go in my greeblie pile. Even the "sprues" have some interesting shapes that are good for piping, antennas, surface detail, etc. I'm using a bunch of parts to up-detail my 1/72 Eagle Transporter.

Hey buddy, I had considered that. Getting a few varying greeblies together and making molds. The scale is what I was unsure about. Thanks for the tip, Hobbytown on the way home!

Oh yeah! That sounds very promising I’ll be looking into that option for sure. I realize I’m adding weeks, maybe months to this venture, and though it certainly will not be a screen accurate thing I want it to be dazzling. Thanks brother!

Metal Earth, never occurred to me. Hobby Lobby has a ton of those and they’re always on price reduction. Looks like I’m stopping there as well. Thanks fellas, this thing is going to be awesome!

The latest bit of progress. I decided to approach the lower jaw a little different than I did the upper head piece. More of a boat hull. It should work out pretty good.

The lower is coming along pretty good but I screwed up on the angle of the trench down the center so I’m gonna have to redo that.

Ok, got the chin channel corrected, eBay greeblies showed up, lots of great stuff in there. Gonna have to get the mold stuff out and do quite a bit of duplication first

The reworking the chin trench, and got the armor plating on and started ribbing the chin however it’s a bit more difficult than I thought it was going to be but, just more time consuming and labor-intensive

That labor is sure worth it!

So much cool detail
It’s a bigger project than I thought, I think I’m doing the easy stuff now…the hangar decks are going to be interesting. So you were talking about some vipers, right? What do you suppose for a dozen of those?

Nothing if I already have source files for the vipers

Let me see what I can find. What scale would you say this is?

Around 1/2000 since I’m doubling the size from the kit scale of 1/4105
Cool, let me know, clearly no rush
This thing is gonna take all winter
Thanks brother

Ahh, here’s the pics I intended for my last post
