Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Post-release)

There's a huge difference between Batman picking up a gun as a "once in a lifetime exception" to shoot Darkseid in an attempt to literally save all of creation and just mowing down dozens of goons with his car or plane or a gun he grabbed off one of them because his costume is riding up on him.

Exactly. And it wasnt done like the nolan films where its implied, the dude in the back of that truck got LIT UP. And if Bats was already branding people, I would imagine killing them wasnt too far off. Did anyone else notice that Batman took a gunshot to the head during the warehouse scene? Like pointblank, gunshot. I know he has a kevlar lining in the cowl but a bullet to the head at that range? I forgot to mention that earlier, thought it was a bit much.
CharlesHouse Dude. You are SUCH a troll. Every one of your posts is a troll post. Its kind of ridiculous. Luckily a good friend told me how to ignore people, so look at that! First person on my ignore list! In 3 years no doubt...

Is everyone missing the purpose of the branding?

Disagreeing with someone is trolling? Weird.

Guys, everyone pack up if you disagree with Snikt. You apparently aren't welcome here. You know, because of the guy who says such mature things as:

Im sorry, but Im usually cool with opinions not being wrong etc, but if you like this movie, you hate film.

If you liked this movie, get a catscan cause your synapses are broken.

Uh oh, hipster film maker alert. I wasnt insulting anyone. Congrats on going to film school, so by all intents and purposes, it was probably worse for you because you were taught to NOT do any of the things Snyder did. Thats fine if you do, and if you do, Im saying you should get checked, because something is wrong with you. You can recommend all you want, but this is the internet. Are you new? Not only that, but your statement contradicts yourself.

Clearly CharlesHouse is a WB employee, or friend of Snyder.

Seriously. We're all adults here. If you take such offense to someone disagreeing with you, resorting to namecalling and then blocking is about as the simplest way to admit immaturity as possible.

FWIW a CAT scan won't tell you squat about dementia, if that's what's implied.
A non-contrast MRI is a good initial choice to look for structural problems or vascular disease.
just sayin'

I'll try watching it, but I've been pretty unenthused about this movie ever since Jesse Eisenberg was announced as Lex. The trailer solidified that opinion for me. The reviews I've read on here so far further confirm that this movie is a complete mess. If the soundtrack is any indication of how disjointed the movie is I'm looking forward to seeing it even less. Even the marketing has been tacky and awkward.

Considering how much WB has invested in this franchise at this point, even bad reviews won't warrant a complete reboot. The best we can hope for is that they'll fire Zack Snyder and try to get this train back on the rails for future films. I'm not holding out much hope though. It's painfully obvious they didn't have a solid, phased plan like Marvel.

Even though it's a completely difference franchise, I think bad comic/superhero movies definitely affect one another. I can see people's superhero fatigue from this turd (and probably Suicide Squad) damaging upcoming the remaining Marvel films.

I just wonder how many takes they did of various scenes, because if most actors delivered a big speech and snot started coming out of their nose, they might want to use another take.

Did it bother anyone else that Superman's dead body was displayed in the same room with open food?
They put a space alien cadaver within arm's reach of the cheese platter, for heaven's sake!

"That's a space peanut..."

"Heading into the weekend the swath of negative critical reviews were a major focus as the film now sits at a 29% rating on RottenTomatoes and no film with a rating lower than 63% on the site had ever opened over $150 million."

All I can say is it must be the spectacle of it all.
Next weekend I think will be critical.

at this point, I think a few thousand die hards not seeing it won't stop hollywood from being stupid and wrecking things. my not going to see bay turtles didn't stop a sequel from getting announced....so, what the hell.

I'll go see it and use it to practice my rifftrax writing skills in the hopes I can apply for a job one day.

maybe i'll go tomorrow.....theaters should be a little emptier during the day.

I went to a showing on Monday at 11:45am and the theatre was pretty packed.

That's exactly it. It operates on the Michael Bay principle. Take a property that people have been clamoring to see in live action for years, then ignore most of the important details about the property and focus purely on the spectacle. Step 3: Profit.

Also, just as a minor point, the "warning from the future" thing could be playing off of the sequence in Crisis on Infinite Earths at the very beginning when The Flash appears in front of Batman and looks all freaked out. It's later revealed to be part of the Flash running to try to destroy the antimatter canon that the Anti-Monitor created, and he goes so fast that he blinks in and out of the timestream.

Pretty much confirmed my worse fears, I don't need this movie in my head for sure.
I thought maybe they would lighten up Supes (nope) but I could never see Affleck in the role personally.
But having him kill like he does sort of confirms, this is not The Batman for me. So my aversion to Affleck can now be backed up
with the fact that this is truly arguably NOT The Batman. You can't pick and choose core established beliefs of a character that so
greatly define the character and expect people that care to just go ok, sure have him do whatever because it looks kewl and is "sick".
I hope that the generation raised on The Animated Series agrees. Like a Deckard that is a replicant, a Batman that kills takes away all meaning.

I was raised on the TAS, both the Batman one, and the JLA one, that was my first introduction to batman. I still like Affleck. He is, in my opinion, the best live action batman so far, and that's coming from someone who liked Bale's batman enough that I invested close to 3K in his batsuit, just so I can display it on a mannequin. If he stops blowing up cars for now on, that'd be nice, but I'm not gonna cry because a few cars full of criminals got blown up after they started shooting at him with heavy caliber weapons.

You haven't seen him in action, hanging from the ceiling, moving like a shadow to disappear in the night, or fighting like he was straight out of an arkham game, literally using his grapnel to pull guys close and hit them, using batarangs left and right, and other gadgets like firearms disablers. Nor have you seen the best batcave rendition so far, with both Alfred and him working on their own custom made gadgets...

I've said it before, this movie has tons of problem, but Batman isn't one of them. That's my opinion, but I believe it is shared by a lot more people, even those who genuinely disliked the movie.

All the trappings is window dressing, I need the core of the character there and it could work if he was operating out of a rental garage and driving a black VW.
The psychology of the characters kept me reading. But fans are as different as there are numbers of fans. I'll have to wait for the next live action version of The Dark Knight. In the mean time The Killing Joke animated movie is on the way.

I get what youre saying, and I agree, that Batman was the best part of this movie (which isnt saying much) but that IS the problem. Its Batman (first billing of course) vs Superman, and its clearly just a Batman movie, all their effort is dumped into him. I just dont think the entire DCEU should be dependent on Batman... Its lame to be honest. Name a hero that has had as much exposure in film as much as Batman has...
