Batman Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller) material

Hey guys.. I am working on a Dark Knight Returns costume (Gotta love an old cranky bats). I was going to use the usual compression/underarmor type shirt-tight combo for a base, But then I saw this.

Any ideas what material-base suit this is? It looks like a thicker cotton or something

(pic is not mine and will remove if asked..it is from another forum..I emailed the costumer with no responce as yet)

 
Yeah, I too tagged the guy and no response, putting the Frank Bat together for SD Comic Con 2014 and gathering info I have several different types of swatches I have ordered for material testing, if any of them look right, ill pass on the info :)

Please do! I'm using the Eastbay compression shirts/tights at the moment...
 
I'm the old cranky Bat in that picture.
That base suit was some kind of textured, almost thermal type of suit. I've had it for probably 10 years, so I can't tell you where I got it, the emblem is a Foamie sheet that was Plasti dipped.
Love to see more Miller bats.

I upgraded the suit a bit with a little painting.
 
TheBatTexan I think has a frank miller cowl that he sells. Maybe you could look into it if you're looking for a cowl!
 
YES! Thanks for the reply...I've been looking for a while for something thermal-ish with no luck so far..the cowl looks great! Any chance of them being offered?
 
Hey guys I don't know if this helps but I saw at walmart last night hanes is selling some thermal looking sorts wear (I don't know if its suppose to be compression gear) its about 9 bucks for either the tops or the bottoms so the whole base suit for less than 20 is not bad :) and it has an interesting texture to it too, if I didn't already have something for my base suit I'd pick it up in a heart beat

Seems like different Wal Marts carry different things..I have'nt seen anything like that at my local store..grab a pic next time you are there!
 
"man, that sculpt is beautiful... if one of those "few" is up for grabs, i'm certainly interested."

I had hoped to have it ready by now, but moving, adopting a baby, and working a full time job has slowed me down.
I am preparing to go back to work on it over the next couple of weeks.
 
You might consider BigGeek's cowl he has offered in the junkyard as well, I know when I get around to this build ill definitely be wanting that cowl.
