Batman and robin and cat woman Halloween 2014

Last years daughters asked me to be batman for Halloween. I have never given it any thought nor where to start. I did some research and on a budget I started to create this. I wanted it to look cool even on a budget. But I didn't stop with me. I decided my kids had to be robin and cat woman. So far this is were I am at. Items still coming together, batman and robin almost complete. Next I will finish my oldest daughter cat woman costume. Way ahead of schedule, so I am happy. EVERY KID NEEDS TO SEE THEIR FATHER AS A SUPER HERO.

EVERY KID NEEDS TO SEE THEIR FATHER AS A SUPER HERO.

This!

I'm making a Captain America costume right now, mostly for my daughter. She loves him... she's worn through her Cap pajamas after a couple of months since she insists on wearing them to play. I love sharing this with my family.

She's also a big Bats fan but wants me to be Robin. As a just under 40 year old dude I just can't see that working ;)

robin? Dude you have to be robin. May look a little off but you being robin and daughter being batman/girl you will win daddy of the year for that sacrifice.

Looks like you're buying the stuff to be Batman and just throwing generic costumes together for your kids. You be the generic Batman and let them have the budget costumes. It'll look legit! Keep it up.

At first it was all me that was going for batman. I spent most of my money on my suit cause I know I won't grow out of it and it will be worn multiple years down the road. As for my kids, they won't wear it again past this Halloween so I figure why bother. My daughters robin outfit, although hard to tell in this image is pretty bad ass. For being put together on a budget. I made her a Bo staff and she will get green gloves as it gets closer to Halloween. Plus once I am don't their suits will be placed on manaquins to be displayed in my man cave. It looks a bit rough now but the final product will be awesome.

Yeah. Green gloves and yellow chest laces for robin and I will be done. Not pictured but I altered robins mask to be more fitting based on the comic style. The mask was originally a green lantern role play mask I got form toys r us and painted black with model paint. Cat woman will consist of black combat boots, black leggings, long sleeve black shirt covered in a black leather jacket and then black cat ears. I already have a black whip that she will wear around her waist. Also black gloves. I found the cat woman goggles on amazon for $12.

Re did robins mask and added the yellow laces to the tunic. Will add pictures once I get back from being out if town.

Cool thanks. I have modded sunglasses in the past with a heat gun and plumbing putty. I need to get the wife a set.

Can't wait to see the finished pics.

My cowl finally arrived and I am so stoked that it fits.

Minus a belt buckle and a proper cape trimming, I say this suit is ready to rock it out this Halloween. teenagers will think twice before they try and steel my kids Halloween candy.

Nice to see a new crop of comic nerds coming up in the world due to some great parenting. Keep it up you guys look great!

My daughters were wanting to do the same thing for Halloween this year, only my oldest wants to be Batgirl and her younger sister be Robin. The oldest wanted me to be Big Daddy, her be Hit Girl, and the younger sister be Kick-Ass (or Kick-Butt as we call him), but I told her I don't think she'd want to be him. I'm loving the Batsuit. It looks pretty much the way I planned to make mine, but with a more badass cowl than I'll probably be able to come up with :lol. May I ask what material you used for the emblem and how you went about attaching it? Her Robin costume is amazing! Great way to work with the basics and still make it feel true to the source. Looking forward to seeing what you do with Catwoman.
