Bandai Blockade Runner Lighting Module

I'm putting together a lighting set for this great kit - you can see my prototype >>in this thread<<.

I'm looking at 3 options at the moment:

1) Just the basic electronics - this would comprise of an assembled controller board and battery pack, and the prewired SMD LEDs for the engines but will require a small amount of soldering ability to connect the LED wires to the board once they have been installed in the model.

2) A set of 3D printed resin inserts for the engines. These have a recess in the back to allow the LED to be securely mounted, and help diffuse the light evenly.

3) A 3D printed base - this is more compact than my prototype, and both the controller board and battery pack simply clip in place. Tube to connect model to base also supplied.

If you might be interested, let me know below which options you'd be interested in. I'm not sure on price yet but want to keep it realistic. Probably ballpark £20/$25 for the electronics.

The link in your post leads to nowhere.

Do you have a CG picture of the engine inserts, to get a better clue of their shape?

Oops - thanks! Should now be fixed. Ugh don't like this new editor. And why don't links look like links any more??

I'll sort out a 3d pic when I get a chance.

Looks pretty nice in the pictures and video. Price range sounds reasonable, too. I'd vote for the full set with base, if you can keep the price low. Or maybe two sets. One with and one without the base.

Since your concept seems to pretty simple, is it possible to do a set for the ISD and upcoming SSD, too?

PS: What color did you use for your Blockade Runner?

I'll definitely do something for the SSD when I can get hold of one. Not sure about the ISD, I did one for the Zvezda but it was very cumbersome to assemble. Will see what the supplied lighting is like.
I used a simple very light grey (almost white) on the BR and then toned it down with Concrete wash from Flory which also brought out all the details.

What is the size of it? I asked that because I want to light up my MOD Lego UCS Millennium Falcon hyperdrive. Thanks

NICE !!! when will these be ready, I'm in for one or two! and at what price point again? i'm for the whole kit.

Almost!! Had hoped to post something at the weekend but juggling several projects. Got 5 boards assembled, waiting for a supply of battery boxes...
