CE3K mothership and Devils Tower base

A few years ago my friend Russell Meyers printed me a replica of Devils Tower and I’ve wanted a model of the mothership from Close Encounters of the Third Kind since 1977. Cristofer Adrian recently made 3D files of many of the UFOs from the film including the mothership. I had Wexx3D in Canada print the mothership In translucent filament, then I painted it German Gray and drilled and scraped tons of openings for lights on it, illuminated the inside with COB LED string and added copper tube antennas and about 50 smd LEDs to light them. I’m also making a scale “Dark Side of the Moon” base to nest up against Devils Tower. I’m still waiting on the teeny detailed cranes that encircle the top of the mothership so this is a ways from finished but the hard part’s done. The mothership is about 15” in diameter and the base is about 5” long.

It’s about 15” in diameter so not a massive footprint.
