Yes, some of the items are common, but some were shared ONLY here with explicit requests by the ones who made them, that they are not sold for money. Someone will buy one, get the name of the seller or email address and the mods will run the IP of the email to match it up here and they will be banned. The free section is not for making money period. It is amazing how blatant he is to actually say he is getting them in a prop replica community and selling them on to the buyer.

The issue isn't so much that someone is selling Bttf paper props on eBay, After all, there are tons who are not on the RPF doing it every day. I think this should be a bigger concern because they pretty much have given away that they are here and prob will take any new paper props you post. If we know they are here we need to get rid of them

So I just made it through all 49 pages of this thread in the last two days and WOW! I just wanted to say that you guys have done some great work. A special thanks to Roland for all the hard work to produce free paper props for the community.

Does anybody have the measurements for the Blast From the Past bag? I'm trying to see if I can source a bag without having to pay $40. For that much money you could easily screen print your own bags.

As I already said in the other thread... Mayn people don't know that these props exist for free, they don't know the RPF, they don't know about props, etc. And Ebay sometimes is there chance to have stuff, they haven'T seen before, except in the movies...

When people come the first time in my prop room, they're blown away and ask always "where do you got that from? and this? and this over there?"

They can'T believe that I print some things out by myself, because there is a source for it somewhere...

Comes from latin requisitum - "needed thing", I also use the word "prop" when I talk to friends, I explained them long ago, what it means. I like it more than Requisit/en, much shorter

I think you would just really have to test it out with the specific plastic and printer. It appears that some holographic plastics have a clear coat over them that allow you to print on them.

Nobody has ever found the correct plastic either, as far as I know. It has a very distinctive appearance that is hard to duplicate. It seems to appear almost totally silver in normal outdoor light, but it also has a pastel rainbow hologram effect that is very subdued.

I have to agree. The bag in this ebay auction is really reflective from straight on. The bag also appears to be two pieces of plastic heat sealed together on the edges. If you look at this PIH auction you can see that the bag is far less reflective from straight on. It also is an actual bag, and not pieces of plastic heat sealed to form a bag.

I'd be happy with a big in a material that comes close, but with the correct logo (Roland posted it here before). The logo on the eBay bag is completely wrong...

I think the PiH picture is not a photo. It seems to be a scan. That could be the reason why it's not reflective on that pic.

I'm just working on a solution for that bag, but it takes a bit longer than I had expected.

That is an interesting idea. I wonder how easy it might be to find a self-adhesive holographic cellophane.

You might not need adhesive clear sheets. If they were hot pressed edges, that would hold them together. The clear wrapping cellophane is clear straight on, but at angles it has that small rainbow pattern.

That's almost my solution, but I will use three layers: first layer is the silvergray bag, second layer is the matte painted gift wrapping film with the iridescent effect and the third layer is a glossy self adhesive film, laser printed with the logo. I already bought all needed materials and I want to use spray glue to stick the bag and the gift wrapping film together. My only problem is: How can I glue two very thin plastic films free of air bubbles? I've tried it, but without success. Any ideas?

Hmmm.. That is a tough solution. Could you lay the pieces in a vacu-form machine with a board on top and suck the air out? I have no idea if it would work, but as an experiment it couldn't hurt to try :lol

I don't have such a vacuum forming machine and I know of no one who has it. But that gives me an idea. At work I have a laminator. :love You will hear from me.
