Back to the Future

Here is my next work for you. It isn't really a prop, but maybe you'll like it.

Do you want to write a letter with a BTTF letterhead? Then this is what you need: my replica of the real production letterhead.

US version: BTTF_Production_Letterhead_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_US-Letter.pdf
International version (A3): BTTF_Production_Letterhead_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_A3.pdf

I also made a replica of a memo which was written on a BTTF letterhead by producer Bob Gale in 1989. The only difference is Bob Gale's signature: The signature from the auction photo of the original memo is too small to be usefull, so I used a better one, which has a higher resolution. It's still his original signature, but from another document.

International version (A3): BTTF_Production_Letterhead_with_Bob_Gale_Inter-Office_Memo_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_A3.pdf

And now that I've made a vector graphic of the BTTF logo for the letterhead, I've taken it and set the correct colors (blue, red and yellow). Here it is:

It has to be said Roland...you do really nice work :)

Thank you! :)

My next work will be a prop again. I'm just working on the "Save the clock tower" donation can label. For those who are still waiting for. Give me just a few days. ;)

There are a LOT of other BTTF fans in France. You would not believe how many sets of newspapers I have shipped over there.
Yep. And I have one and I'm so happy with them. BTTF is fun to watch and has sci-fi and western in it. The whole package in just three good movies.

Funny story about merlin is, that he was in his local newspaper with his (stolen) collection... Some kind of hero in his area... :lol
French press too politically oriented and gangrened by communist unions. :angry
When they have nothing to grumble against, they do such articles in order to fill the blanck pages and feel like they are very close to the real people... :rolleyes

Heya, that guy is a nightmare, I havent blocked him yet on FB, but he keeps on asking me to design props for him for free, [...] and he is a pushy pushy guy, so I dont even respond to him.
Why don't you send him an estimate for your work:
Document X, 20 hrs of work, $20 per hour --> total $400
I'm sure he will give up. :lol

Let them sell that stuff. If people are stupid enough to buy things, which they could have for free, then I have no compassion for them.
As I already said in the other thread... Mayn people don't know that these props exist for free, they don't know the RPF.
I wish I new the RP before. i started my "collection" with buying stuff from ebay. Some was good (a Sports Almanach and Oh là là magazine from GB) and some where really poor (a full set of paper props from the Netherland). It's only after that I discovered the TPF and now I'm buying stuff directly from members.

Comes from latin requisitum - "needed thing", I also use the word "prop" when I talk to friends.
The french word for prop is "Accessoire". As an adjective it means "secondary, of secondary importance, incidental". As a name it means "accessory / prop".
What's the german one?

In Germany we call it "Requisiten" or "Filmrequisiten". But that means sculptures, costumes and such "solid" things. If you want to describe paper props, it's difficult in german. You could say "Papierrequisiten", but that sounds goofy.

So I'm slowly starting to get things squared away for my first prop build; obviously a hoverboard. I have the pdf's that meta440 so kindly put up, and I'm working on fixing some small things (Mattel logo, color placement, etc.) I haven't worked on Illustrator in forever, but booted it up today to try and make the Mattel logo so that the words do not run into the border. Attached is my first attempt. I just wanted to see how you guys felt about the closeness of the text to the border, and just overall how it looks. Thanks for the feedback.

Here's my next work, guys. This may be of interest to you: The "Save The Clock Tower" donation can label. The letters on the label are fully accurate (I redraw each letter with my software and didn't use actual fonts) and the label has the correct size. It's 13 inch x 5 ¼ inch, so you need a large paper sheet to print it (US-Tabloid or A3).

US version: Save_The_Clock_Tower_Donation_Can_Label_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_US-Tabloid.pdf
International version (A3): Save_The_Clock_Tower_Donation_Can_Label_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_A3.pdf

You need a can with the size 4 inch x 5 ½ inch (10 cm x 14 cm) and a red can cap. Maybe it's easier in your area to find a can with that size, but it's very difficult in Germany to find it, because the standard sizes of cans are too small or too large here. I almost gave up my search, but then I found this: "Finetti Sticks" wafer rolls. It has the 100% correct size and the one with hazelnut-cocoa filling even has a cap with the correct red color (but not 100% correct design). Look at my preview pics.

Enjoy it! :)

Now I'm going to have to go shopping for snacks tonight and then eat all the ones I get! It might take dozens to find the right one!

Do it like I did it: Go shopping with a ruler in your pants pocket. :D

If someone finds a correct can in Belgium, please let it know! The Finetti Sticks are impossible to find here, it seems, although Belgium is right besides Germany...

I can't believe, that there's no tin in belgium... Should I send you one?!? :lol

Roland? Does your tin have the correct size?

Yes, the "Finetti Sticks" can has the 100% correct size: 4 inch x 5 ½ inch (10 cm x 14 cm). That's also the size of the screen used can and the label I made fits perfectly. I didn't find any other can, that has the same size. I had searched in several markets. But that doesn't mean, that there's no other can with the correct size. I just didn't find it. In Germany the "Finetti Sticks" are available in the "Kaufland" market.

@all
I know, it's the wrong place to ask, but if you want, I could start a run with finished donation can replicas this evening. If there's interest, drop me a PM.

Good, lets see if I can get one in Kaufland... :lol

I think I dont need a finished one :lol:lol:lol

With the PDF it looks very easy... I hope the label is only glued on one side or is it completely glued over the complete tin?

Do you mean the donation label or the "Finetti" label? The "Finetti" label isn't glued, it's directly printed onto the metal surface of the can, so there's nothing you need to remove. But I recommend that you don't use a too thin paper sheet. I use 120 g/m² paper to ensure that the printed image of the can doesn't shine through.

Really cool Roland thanks and by any chance has anyone made a really nice accurate cover for the tales from space comic?

Ive got a hi-res copy of the cover front & back, I'm considering a run but it depends how much of a hassle it would be :)

I have some questions about the back side:

- The word "for" in "I'll help you get a Daisy for Christmas" - is it black or red?
- The big arrow behind "free Christmas reminder kit" - is it black or green?
- The words "Daisy air rifles" on bottom - is it white on red background or red on purple background?

"For" is red, The big arrow is green, and "Daisy air rifles" is red on purple. :cool
