Back to the Future

If you can use a laser printer with the transparent blue plastic sheets,
you could print the design in black (or light gray?) and use toner foil over it.
You can get it in white or silver. I think the silver would be very close.

just realised you put the printing error (the curve on the barcode I mean) in your redos, I was wondering if you really want that in there to keep it screen accurate or do you want it to look better than the original by straightening it up?

p.s. a stamp would cost about £30 with shipping.

I had noticed the curve on the barcode. Both original receipts have this curve - the blue one and the yellow one. To be most screen accurate, I used the auction picture of the yellow "carbon copy" (because it has less of this "haggard look" than the blue one) and laid my vector graphics exactly over it, when I made them.

PS: if you take a closer look at the barcode, you will notice, that it's one barcode twice. The "curve" is just the spot, where the two barcodes encounter.

Thanks for this good tip! I found a producer, who make it for 29.90 Euro (incl. shipping). That's 37.91 US$ or 24.75 £. I've just ordered it and should receive it within the next three or four days. :)

Nice find Roland who'd you get to do the stamp?

p.s. should have read with shipping didn't check the details fully, but yours is still cheaper.

I hope this stamp stuff works. My greatest fear is, that the barcode lines won't be legible, because they are too thick and flow into each other, when they're stamped. I'm curious about it.

The stamp quality is not such a worry they can do great things nowadays, my main concern is printing on to the plastic surface, a little slippage and it's screwed. Also will the ink dry as printers ink requires an absorbent surface.

The ink is no problem. I found a silver metallic ink for stamps. It's specially made to be used on water-repellent surfaces such as plastics. But before I order it, I want to wait for the stamp and test it with ordinary ink on paper.

Today I've received my ordered stamp. And I'm very surprised!!! The manufacturer has done an excellent work. Every small detail is clearly visible, even the barcode lines. Maybe I have to make some small corrections here and there, but nothing of importance.

Now I have to buy the silver ink and a blue sheet. I hope, it will work! :)

Yeah, I'm sure interested to see some results of that stamp. If it's nice, I'm sure you can pull of a run in the junkyard...
