Back to the Future Part II

Bar Service.pngbiffbar.jpg

Hi guys,

this morning I finished this graphic from Biff using the right picture for reference. IDK if this is authentic or seen in the movie, but it was fun to do.

Nice job Dietrich, another one of those little seen/not seen props to help flesh out the BTTF universe.:):thumbsup

Sorry for the double post. My phone went weird

Not yet but I probably will eventually. Not sure on the exact sizes.

If you print the files in original size, your board should be 28¾ x 8 x 1 inches (after bending the kicktail, the length is around 28½ inches).

Try these scans (click to enlarge, but attention: each one of them is about 5 MB):

I don't know who has made those scans (I just know that Vivek had posted them here), but I know they are made from the original scans, that were included with the limited UK Blu-ray collectors edition of BTTF (the "tin box").

Does anyone have any readable scans (where you can read the articles, not just the headlines) of the other BTTF newspapers (including Brown Mansion Destroyed, Emmett Brown Committed/Commended, Biff winning the races, etc)?

I've made replicas of all these with the correct article text. But almost none of the text has anything to do with the story.
Prop newspapers usually have the same 8-10 random nonsense paragraphs repeated over and over to give the illusion of a complete newspaper.

The papers that have the most actual text that relates to the story are the 2 George McFly newspapers from BTTF II. They each have about 3 paragraphs. The Emmett Brown papers usually have one brief original paragraph at the top of the page, but there are multiple versions of both the George and Doc papers that were made for the movie. Also, the 'Space Zombie' newspaper that was made for the first movie but not used, has a full paragraph at the top about Old Man Peabody claiming to see the flying saucer.

Here is a production photo from BTTF II that was posted online by outatime.net. It shows one of the original George McFly newspapers and you can read the text. These photos show the newspapers outside in the sun, so I assume they were taken while the papers were actually being aged to appear old for the movie.

Thanks. I've long been intrigued by stuff like that, wondering if they give any closer details and glimpses into the movie's 'world'. But most of them tend to be irrelevant, like the garbage truck stuff in USA Today; or even just random gibberish. That one you posted does give a little info about George though, saying that he was a longtime activist against BiffCo. That, along with him having Lorraine, is probably what led to him getting iced.

I'd still like to track down the Doc Brown ones though, to see if Biff had anything to do with him being committed.

There's only a small paragraph at the beginning, which says: "Local scientist Emmett Brown yesterday was legally declared insane by doctors. Brown now held at the Hill Valley Hospital is under heavy sedation."

The funny thing is that the paragraph is the same in both newspapers, the "committed" and the "commended". Doc received a civic award and was still declared insane. :lol

I'm more concerned that the mayor's office apparently becomes a mental ward. :lol

Thanks Roland, and that is indeed funny. I guess studios really count on viewers not being able to read small text, particularly back in the VHS days. The 'committed' paper's lower headlines do reveal a bit of Biff's power in alternate 1985..
