Hi all,
I found this pic on the web of an Army guy reclining in a "found" ejection seat.
As far as I can see, it seems to be the basis of the 2 rear cockpit seats used on the Millennium Falcon, as well as the one Han sits in while Luke gets zapped by the training remote. :)

Does anyone know what type of ejection seat it is? I looked thru several ejection seat sites and wasn't able to match it to any pics I saw.
The Martin-Baker Mk 6 was close. . . but I'm not sure.

Any ideas??

Its British, the US designs have a more sqaured off bottom seat plate. I owned an F-4 one myself at one time.
The top section holds the ejection ring hand holds. Thats the biggest clue in to the model of the seat that I see.
You have the era right. Might be a stripped down Sea Vixen Mk. 4DSA Martin-Baker Seat.
Or a Mirage V Martin-Baker Mk. BRM-4.

Its got to be one of the three stripped down.

Thanks for the replies.
On further research, I'm 99% positive it is an MB Mk 4 seat.
Anyone have any idea where I could find some good line drawings of the Mk 4?

There are quite a few Martin Baker sites out there. I would suggest loking through google searches. There are a couple experts on the seats in England and the US on these. Might want to google Ejections seat collectors as well to see.

Cool picture of the seat. Haven't seen this view. Where did you get it?

It is a nice clear view.
I was just searching the web for pics of those tall chairs used on the Millennium Falcon, and I remembered I had heard somewhere that they were stripped down ejection seats of some kind. So after sifting thru some pics of ejection seats, I came across that one.
I don't remember which site it was, but when that pic popped up, I immediately recognized it.

I only have one question...and Tripoli will get this one...

If you ever obtain one of those old Martin Baker seats...is your Seat Check-Out up to date and logged in your Training Jacket? :D

How many pins are there on your seat?

What order are they to be removed before flight??

'Inquiring minds' want to know... :D

~ Hand Solo. Last Seat Check-Out on the EA-6B, Block 86 GRUEA-7....in 1989... :confused :lol

Ok...so that was MORE than one question....
