Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

In reference to you guys who commented from my last post, Yes the scene with Hulk and Loki "Puny God" scene. The whole theater erupted in laughter. I'd like to have heard it too, but I'm sure I'll watch again, soonish. Hulk did steal the show, every scene he was in made me laugh with the way he was accurately way I think he should have been. Joss was THE right guy for the job.

And Shawarma is another name for a Gyro, or Hero.

And the insurance company is funny too.

Anyone notice a crow in the movie somewhere? Odin sends them to keep track of things.

Yeah, there were two crows which fly by Loki and Thor as theyre talking on top of that mountain at night.

I dont understand how that means coulson is alive in any way. I think it was just a joke he said to coulson

Because SHILD is notorious for using LMD's (life model decoys)... Nick Fury used 10 in one run when there was a major hit put out on him. Think clones...

Wow I never picked up on Tony actually using the term Life Model Decoy! Being a fan of Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD comic I'm dissapointed in myself.

As much as I like Agent Coulson, I really don't see him being alive. He was a secondary character whose death catalyzed the team into action ….
I hate to see him gone, but also see no point in trying to have him still alive somehow.

In my opinion, it would have more of an impact during multiple future blu-ray viewings if Coulson remained dead. Maybe Fury just used the cards and thats the end of that, but it sure did seem weird the way it went down.

Regarding the score, I also thought I heard Cap's theme from TFA (specifically the scene when Cap is running through the city and avoiding gunfire) but I think it's just Silvestri helming the score for both movies and there's a bit of similarities in some of the scores between the two. The Avengers theme score definitely has a bit of Cap patriotic feel to it.

Is there also some kind of unspoken rule that you don't use/reference other composer's scores when creating your own, even if it's part of a sequel or something? Kinda like how Iron Man 1 and 2's scores, written by two different composers, were so different and nearly unrelated?

I too was hoping to hear bits of Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor themes (I particularly like what was done in The Incredible Hulk and Thor), but I kinda get why they weren't included. :cry

Did you guys know Lou Ferrigno voiced the Hulk when he said PUNY GOD?
I thought that was a nice touch.

I adore the Coulson character and I think he's really become a strong character... but I'd be disappointed if they went with the LMD dying in his place. It would negate many of these great moments he had with the characters in this movie. He wouldn't have had the little geek girl moment with Cap on the jet to the helicarrier, for instance. It would also destroy some of the trust these people came to have in him by having them be tricked like that (even if HE didn't know about it himself). So... yeah. As much as I love the character, I think it's more impactful to have him stay dead.

At least for now. I'll add a caveat that if they wait until the third or fourth Avengers movie to bring him back, that might be AWESOME, depending on how they go about it.

I don't think so, there have been movies before that have used different composers yet the scores are similar; Jurassic Park 2 comes to mind right off the bat, John Williams didn't do the score for the JP2 but the score was reminiscent of his work on the first Jurassic Park. I think it's mostly a matter of whether the director wants a totally original score when making a sequel or whether he/she wants it invoke the sound and feel of the movie(s) that came before.

I also thought for a second when Banner first becomes the Hulk..there was a frame or 2 with Ferrigno..but it could have been a nostalgic trick of the eye on my part.

Yep, pretty sure it was him. I read it last week, and it also sounded exactly like him.

The only place I've seen that is IMDB, which is often wrong.

I seem to remember reading that Ruffallo played the Hulk in his entirety, including the body and voice.
