Avengers 2 Hulkbuster

Ok, I just decided to try this on a bit of a whim.

It happens to be pay day for me so, you caught me at the right time lol. Just spent 200 bucks on amazon, not bad in my opinion, for video glasses, a small-ish live streaming camera, the cord to connect them, a ton of led's, bread board and soldering stuff.

Now the excruciating wait for them to ship to me!

What type did you get?

It's actually a no-brand name shipping from China. It was the best price and had "decent" reviews. It also accepted any A/V input, which was the hard part to find.

Then for the camera, I got one decently priced that supported live streaming. Plus, I got the A/V cord adapter to connect the two.

Hopefully they will work! lol

<drool> they look awesome. I'm thinking of spreading the batteries between the upper thighs and lower back with the electronics in the lower back or in the chest

Thanks! I'm still really debating where to put the camera... I wont really be able to decide until I get it in and see how big it really is.

Mine is a bit more form fitting than yours will be, but I think I'm going to hide most of the batteries in the back of the chest. There is a ton of extra room there where it bulks out. The legs are going to be tight for me.

Ok, time for an option 2. That video stuff is way out of my price range, my wife would dis own, dis embowl and proibly dis charge a fire arm at me if I spent that much on a single suit item

I completely understand that. This is the first time I've just thrown money at a suit like this. I just got a huge promotion at work so I was able to justify it by saying it is a celebratory gift to myself. :-D

There are definitely other ways to do it though, depending on what you are looking for.

Using colored transparent material could be an option in the section you want to look through such as plexiglass

Ok, my dear HulkBusterS legion, i need your advice. im unfolding paper LD model (done 80%), and try to make real paper detail (40% done). Here is my question: after paper step will be done, i want to use fiberglass and resin, as always. But for this suit i dont want to use putty (filler), because it will be cost a lot of money. maybe i can use primer after resin and cover it Gravitex? like this:

it gives me nice (but not smooth) layer, and i can paint it gold and red, after Gravitex. So, what do you guys think about this idea.

p.s. Awesome pictures, mr. Shadeling
:thumbsup

I think using fiberglass or putty will work nicely depending on tails. If your going large size you might want to watch the weight...

That's my 2 cents

weight is the 2-nd problem, i worried about process. if i will use putty after resin, and then will sanding this sandwich and make all suit nice and smooth - it will cost over9000 money and i will spend over9000 days. what do you think about HB in Gravitex and painted after?
Its FREE idea for everyone, btw :D

I would say it entirely depends on the finish you want, if you are happy to have a textured finish instead of a smooth finish then this looks as good as anything else. Personally I would opt for a smooth surface but thats just my preference.

Thnx, ill think about it. i just want to know, how its look for other people.

I'm going to sand then smooth cast a couple of times to strengthen and get the texture I want.

A couple light coats of spray pain then a lot of small detail painting with a small brush

We now return to our regular scheduled HB builds...

Ok guys, I have a question. So, how much movement do you expect to be able to do in this suit? Are you taking it to a convention? I'm sure I'll be able to walk, and go up and down stairs, but beyond that and a slight hand wave, I'm not so sure. I see you guys are working on finger movement but, what else would you suggest for such a bulky costume?

Actually, just found a neat thread on just this. I think I might try this advice from it

"Now, if the armor is bigger than your body and you want to make sure the armor piece won’t “wobble” when worn… I’d stack foam sheets on the inside of the piece so it would be thick enough that it would fill the space between the armor and my body – you’d then be able to adjust the armor pieces properly. You don’t have to fill the entire space, just a few 2”x2” squares of foam strategically placed would do the trick" from FullmetalSam
