hi all im looking to build my first DL-44 and i want to get it accurate as possible.
i want to purchase one of the parts run however i cant find a mauser or a denix to base the build off. Everyone i find on ebay or amazon does not ship to Australia :(
Is there any Aussies on here who have built a DL?
any help would be awesome, its killing me i've been trying to start this build for ages
Cheers

Where in Aussie are you mate? There are a number of places that sell Denix replica's here but if you're in a State where they are prohibited, you'll need to rely on a friend in a state where they're sold to post one to you.

They are not cheap (around $275.00) but once you have that, then the other add-on parts are easily imported as long as its done properly..

Good luck.

I live in Sydney and i thought it would be expensive we do tend to get riped off here a bit

Hi Strongy, I'm in the same position as you. I'm in Sydney and really want to build my own DL-44.
I have friends in Queensland who may be convinced to post a Denix replica to me.

I'd much rather an MGC Mauser if I could get it.

...so is a permit to own a replica! I understand permits and background checks for actual firearms, but wow!

In some states its illegal to own a replica of any kind - even a resin one.

Yep Markus, they are incredibly expensive here. A Denix Colt .45 will set you back $300.00, An MP40, $1,300.00 and an AK about $1,000.00

It's not easy or cheap to own replica firearms in Oz even if they are to base movie props off.

I really wanted to buy a deactivated sterling for an e11, went and talked to the QLD police and the drama and cost was mental, so I went the resin kit route.

I presume you know doopydoos supply a resin kit that can be made to look very nice when built and weathered properly.

Anyway good luck with your build

I'm in WA, it's actually cheaper to own the real firearms than some replicas. I might suggest you try terra australis garrison perhaps?
