Assassin's Creed Movie (Post-release)

Re: Assassin's Creed Movie

For anyone interested the trailer just came online. Being a huge AC fan I like what I see so far. It's definitely a good thing Ubisoft had a big play in the movie. Looking forward to the film

Yeah, it's a beautiful trailer. Unfortunately the music they chose clashes with the beauty of the cinematography, leaving us with an end product that is decidedly "meh"

Re: Assassin's Creed Movie

Yeah, I think I'll pass. I still feel that the first cinematic trailer for the first game really established how to do it if it was gonna be a movie. Do it at wide shot for most of it where the eye is looking for the assassin in the crowd, moving in on mediums-wides as the assassin gets closer, close up on the kill before going back to wide when he disappears into the crowd.

Looks fantastic.

Looks like they've taken the material, played with it but not gone outside the sandbox, come up with something that doesn't crap on anything we know, but gives us a new adventure to enjoy. On the big screen.

That jump at the end...and the mid air flip as he falls from the wide shot...chills.

Kanye can take a hike, seriously do not like that music choice

My thoughts EXACTLY!!! I didn't know It was Kanye, but that music is definitely out of place for the setting. Whoever plugged that into this trailer should be punched in the nuts.

Movie looks ok. I'll see it when it hits video.
Never played it so I won't be watching the film with the anger of the gamer purists.

To be honest it looks fairly true to their universe, I will of course wait to judge but I have a lot of faith in the movie, if not the way Fox is promoting it.

Well they have to throw rap and hiphop into every movie and movie trailer these days it seems, as if that's going to bring folks to the theater.

Re: Assassin's Creed Movie

I played the first 6 games and absolutely loved them, so I'm super excited about the movie. I wish that the movie was sticking a little closer to the feel/atmosphere/story of the first game (to me it was the best suited to be made into a movie), but overall I still think the trailer looks good (and fairly accurate to the world of the later games).

My one complaint would be..... DEAR GOD WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THE MUSIC?!?!?!? :sick:facepalm:confused:cry:thumbsdown

but yea... other than that... looks promising...

Just been to see the movie too. So many there were a few plot points that niggled me, But not sure if the movie universe is a direct link to the game universe, or if the movie universe is a completely separate entity from the game one. If the latter is true, then they don't bother me so much, if at all. But hey.

Pros:
Decent story
Visually stunning
Very true to source material

Cons:
"viewpoint" sequences, although beautiful, are a little over done.
The jump cuts during the fighting sequences. We are in and out the animus so many times you would think it was the hokey pokey.

Asides that it's a very good movie.

Fight scenes are a lost art thanks to bad editors and cinematographers. Interesting that they now have this movie as part of the game's canon, usually game movies have no tie-ins to the games itself but to weave it into the overall story line is something new.

Took my teenage son to movie, I have no background in the game. Some musings and questions:
- visually stunning and breathtaking movie for me.
- why didn't Jeremy Irons actually use the apple to stop the Assassins? They show some blue magic and than he's dead. NO PAYOFF. I left the movie unsatisfied as a result...

Got back from watching it - was never going to be a Shawshank Redemption but for what it was a good film. Some beautiful visuals; loved what they did w/ the Animus. And hearing this is part of a trilogy certainly has me excited for where this story is going
