Assassins Creed Brotherhood: White Assassins Robes

Hey all!
Lets not waste time, and lets get started!

The costume is from Assassins Creed Brotherhood, its a variation you can purchase in the game, its sorta a middle armor..not to powerful..but very visually appeasing to me. Its simple and elegant. And I like that.

So I've been working on the assassins creed costume over the past several months, and I'd thought I would share some of the progress I've made.

(this is the costume I'm aiming for)

As you can see its a little different from the usual fair you see, usually you see these costumes without any armor. I want armor...no...I NEED armor. So I started in.

This is the chest piece, made with a base of foam board and the brown is obviously cardboard. Pretty simple!

Next step is resining, and bondo, pretty (if not labor intensive) easy so far.

After a few coats of truck bed hardener, and a nice round of dry brushing, you're left with this!

Pretty Nice so far.

And one more thing, the other pauldron, its very strange.....more of a football shoulder pad then an actual
"pauldron"

And thats where I'm at with the armor everyone, not bad..could certainly be much better...but it looks ok to me!

And now the hidden blades! Yes! the part you've all been waiting for!!

I'm a tinkerer, and a machinist..so that lends itself pretty well for the dual action side of the hidden blade world.
This is my current iteration of the blades, I know the blade is long, I know it sticks out towards your palm, but it adds that length that eludes everyone.

Please watch it and see if it seems passable!

Thoughts? Suggestions? Criticisms?

Leave 'em below!

The hidden blade is awesome! Well the whole build is. Your design for the blade mechanism is similar from mine, but I'm really curious how you got rid of the wheel from the Ammunra version, what did you replace it with? It definitely makes the whole thing too clunky.

Simple, I attached a spring to one end of the switch, and a bit of leather opposite, to go onto my finger.
A tad hard to activate, but no big deal.

Oh ok, so you have to keep your hand pulled back to keep the blade extended? That's kind of awesome. I'd love to swap ideas some time, I've got my design down to 3/4" thick with the wheel on top, this could bring it down to 5/8" or POSSIBLY even 1/2".

Exactly, so that way it stays out only when you want it to.

The mechanism I've got is pretty much around 1/4 an inch, it's the casing that takes up all the room, I built it 3/4 tall because that's what I believe it is in game.

I would love to collaborate with you! Sounds interesting!

It's a long term goal to make a solidworks model of my blade and machine it out of delrin or maybe even aluminum. Aluminum would allow for the thinnest wall thicknesses, which is what helps the most. My first prototype was made from styrene and the friction stopped it from working properly. Also the hooks on the two rubber banded pieces on top of the switch plate snapped, too much force for that type of plastic.

I was actually referring to the other end of them, the outside end that kicks the blade.

Ah, my bad! I reinforced them with superglue, but in the cast version of these, I'll make em out of strips of bent metal. So they won't fail on a customer.

Yea, that piece will definitely be machined aluminum on my final version. The super glue actually wouldn't have helped the prototype because it didn't snap on the bend, the actual arm snapped in half just forward of the bend. I had actually done it lower profile where the bent piece was just another layer of 2.5 mm styrene stack onto the bottom of the kicker. It was one of the things that helped keep the thickness down. As far as overall thickness is concerned, the one I'm trying to replicate is Altair's, which rests on top of the gauntlet instead of in a crack between the armor like on Ezio's. It's lower profile and doesn't have the decorative dragon part that contains the wheel mechanism at the back. Your design is much more accurate particularly for the Altair version.

Alright ladies and gentlemen! I have some updates on the armor.

Right bracer 57.89234% complete....just need to cast up the hidden blade in the picture, and fit it for the straps and buckles!

that armor looks greats, its going to make the full costume really stand out

Thank you! I hope it does!

I am returned, and I have brought with me pictures of my latest exploits.

These pictures are of the iconic right bracer the protatanist wears during AC: Brotherhood.

And finally, I have started to mold the Dual-action blade, this is a shot of the slider, the heart of the whole mechanism.
