Ashigaru Samurai Stormtrooper Build, for SW Celebration 2017, <PIC HEAVY>

Greetings, I am going to show my current build, I am planning on possibly taking to SW Celebration in Orlando. I already did a Mash-up of TMNsT (Teenage Muntant Ninja Storm Turtles) for my family, but when I saw this figurine I knew I had to build it!







Started off with simple craft sponge foam for the chest piece







Carved out the chest and back the same ways...







Prepped Both with Bondo for better shaping...getting ready for vacuum molding





Next started with a construction helmet, reformed it, and made it into the helmet





Took some craft foam for stencils and started to make the lower helmet armor, (just for fun put on a Stormtrooper mask only for looks, not going to be a part of the final costume)

Looks awesome! I just finished up my own Samurai Stormtrooper made from EVA foam. I based it off of the Movie Realization figure as well, but took some liberties with it, as it was my first time doing a big cosplay/costume like this, and my experience put some limitations on what I could do with the foam. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out! It's looking great so far!

Here is the Chin Armor (trying to pick up every detail (even the inside)...

The first fittings, chest, back and shoulder pieces...

The Sword is a Samurai Cosplay Sword from "Bleach", real wood scabbard, sanded down and restained, and a real Tanto with the blade removed replaced with a HIPS (High Impact Poly Styrene) Blade, scabbard also stripped and stained to match. Both blades will be Rub N' Buffed Silver at a later time.

Hand Armor

First Full fitting, still need to finish the right chin armor, shoes, mask, outer belt and thermal detonator. After that detailing and weathering. The project is moving along well.

Got the jacket completed for the mold...

Cut down and bolted together...

First mold done...FAIL, tightened the joining bolts to tight and warped the inner mold, hense warped cast...

Second cast done, much better not warped and just need some cleaning up...

Almost all completed, just need some adjustments, and fix a few things but overall happy with the outcome...
