Are The Sets From MASH Gone??

Terrible news keeps coming out of California.

I caught this article this morning. I know it pales against what people are going through personally, but are the standing sets from MASH now gone?

Hoping for the best for those of you who are out on the west coast.

From what I recall those sets were taken down years ago, there was only a broken down Jeep that marked where they stood

Ah, you may be correct:

They burned down prior to the filming of the finale, which was why that was written into the show.

I don't recall the camp being burned down in the final episode.

In Show- Potter saw the glow of flames over the next hill and they bugged out. It was a real fire approaching and it did destroy the sets- the cast returned to the burnt out wreckage in the episode which was not a set dressing but the real aftermath.

Weird that I do not recall any of the fire in the final episode. In my mind, I recall the end where they all say goodbye, break down the tents and fly off in the helicopter. You see them fly over the camp with a few building still standing. I need to go back to watch this again, lol.

IIRC it was about half way through the final episode. Potter sees the glowing smoke over the hill and remarks something about last time he saw that sort of thing there was a fire heading his way when he was on his ranch back home. He calls for a bug out and everyone leaves, when they return the sets are destroyed.
It is a supreme example of taking something beyond your control, adapting the story to incorporate it and turning it into a positive. At the time some felt the fire scene was piling on too much for the episode with everything else they had going on- never realizing that it was something that happened regardless of the script.
