Archive X Paints: ESB AT-ST Colors?

I’m getting everything together to start a Merlin Models ESB AT-ST build..

…but I note that Archive X doesn’t have a specific set for this model…though they do have both the ESB AT-AT and ROTJ AT-ST sets…

I assume that the ESB AT-AT set basically is the same paint used on the ESB AT-ST…am I correct?

If it helps, every single AT-AT in the archives is a different shade of grey when you compare them against each other. You can put on a blindfold, throw a dart at a grey color chart, and you're good. Bear in mind, the magic happens in the weathering - you can use Tamiya primer as a base color and be good to go, honest.

I can echo Jason’s statement about Tamiya primer as a basecoat. I just finished priming my Merlin ESB AT-ST with Tamiya gray fine surface primer, and I really can’t see much difference with the “proper” archive-x base coat on my Merlin AT-AT.

The ESB AT-ST is a different grey than ROTJ, it is 1975 lettering grey
