Anyone use Rain Boots for Batman boots?

Since I'm not about to pay an upwards of $70 for costume boots, I was thinking of alternatives to replace my Gotham 100's boots after they fell apart. So would something like this work?

I'm thinking if I can get a pair of these rain boots that's tall enough, to just cut the tops like Batman's usually are and finish it up with a few coats of Plasti Dip. So has anyone ever tried this?

which version of Bats are you doing bro? it could work, used them for my first Batman (budget version), just check if plastidip will stick to them.

Regular comic Bats. I mean that standard point below the knee is pretty standard on most versions...Hush, BTAS, DKR. Only some of your newer versions have the more squared off point like on the New 52 Bats.

And I know Plasti Dip will stick to them. They're vulcanized rubber.

I personally would not be able to stand the fact they didn't fit my legs tight like mine do now. I bought some nice 5.11 boots at a goodwill for $25. Check there or other thrift stores for combat boots

Look on YouTube he shows you how to make comic bat boots for as much as you spend on material I made a pair of boots (after modifying his pattern as mine look like motorcycle boots.)

All good points guys. I might just scrap that idea anyway as I have a pair of those brown Jedi style boots from the same company. I just plasti dipped them black and glued a triangular piece of craft foam inside the top to get the point looking right.

Also wouldn't combat boots need boot covers to go over them? I've got a pair of Bates but they're nowhere near as tall as they should be, only reaching halfway up my calves.

You could split those boots down the front, then add lace-holes, elastic bands, or velcro to make them fit tighter. Then your shin-guards would strap over them to hide the cuts.

I don't know man, I went "cheap" on my first pair of Batboots and those things just killed my feet after about an hour of walking . I ended up buying a pair of long pirate boots, cutting them down (with the correct point) . I did pay $100 for them but well worth it. I've had them for 4years now and they are still great. I guess it depends how much you wear your suit.

Pirate boots huh? Thats a good idea! Lately I've been considering everything from riding boots to women's boots. You know whats funny? I think they've stopped making the Gotham 100's. I checked eBay and Amazon and there's only a few people selling them, one seller on Amazon had them for $227! that's insane!
