Anyone still waiting on their MR Fett helmet?

Just checking here before I bug MR about it.

Gotta say though that, while I am excited to get it I guess I am VERY disappointed in how the mandibles taper together on this thing. A GROSS inaccuracy and shameful on what is supposed to be a $500.00 duplicate of a prop.

Was even on the verge of canceling my order when I saw the first deliveries but decided to go through with it.

EDIT: I mean shoot - they screw it up AND send it way late?! C'mon.

I'm waiting for mine as well :(... Sadly, I dont think they will correct the taper mandibles... :(.

At least, I want to get it now !!! :( I hate delays !!! and what for ? they WONT make any mod, so why to hold them so long in the QC???

Well, MR did some good things but perhaps it is a good thing that the license has moved on.

Sadly again, we will have the option of perhaps buying a Fett helmet once again from someone who will have the chance not to screw it up for

$FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! HEAR THAT MASTER *******G REPLICAS?!!!!

I finally got mine in yesterday. I had called and they said that they were waiting on the Giclee's to come in so that they could send them out with the helmet.
Mine was sent to the "Fulfillment Center" on 01-28-08 and finally got shipped on 02-22-08. Hopefully you will be getting yours shortly.

I'm still waiting on mine--I ordered on August 12th (my birthday). I was thinking that they shipping out the signature editions then the regular limited editions. A good friend of mine, and fellow boardmember here, got his signature edition over a month ago.

Still trying to decide to cancel mine or not, especially in light of the taper issue and difficult fix.

The taper bugs me a bit but not enough to cancel or anything. Overall, I think the MR Fett looks fantastic...especially for the price.

Still waiting for mine though...

Still waiting and I am getting the art with mine along with the squished mandible.

Still waiting on mine too.

Yeah, the mandible thing bothers me a lot also and I'll definitely do a mod of some sort to fix it. However, it's still hands down the best commercially made helmet that has ever been available.

Consider that a kit alone of a decent helmet will run you around $100. A professional quality paintjob would run around another $200 for the amount of detail. Add in a metal range finder stalk, clear rangefinder, rangefinder electronics, metal ears at something like $150 and T-visor at $20. And then consider the amount of cutting and sanding on the kit.

When you think of it that way, you'd probably be money ahead to get an MR helmet, and modify it.:lol

Thinking back to the $600 - $700 DP Deluxe I actually bought back in the day and I'm quite a bit more upset. That thing had a T-visor that sat flush with the face, rather than recessed, had random weathering, no electronics, the T-visor wings didn't extend far enough and were puttied in to boot. And the shape was quite a bit off. If I remember correctly I think the back had lost some length. The back vents weren't cut out, no faux electronics parts beneath the vents. Gosh, should I go on?

I think need to put this into perspective. It is what it is, and it's better than anything that has come out yet.

Well, I checked my account this morning and I've moved from pending to pending shipment--fullfillment ID and everything! Hopefully I'll receive tracking info soon :)

Dave

Edit: I received my tracking confirmation this morning, eta is March 5th!

Mine's here, #740. Oddly enough the litho's didn't show sold out when I ordered yet I didn't get one with such a high number helmet.

Finally got mine Yesterday! #431

Aside from the tapered visor, and the paint misting, this thing is really cool. Better than I thought a mass produced replica would be.
