Anyone still making working lightsabers?

Anyone know where I can find a tutorial for converting a Maul FX to Luxeon? I just noticed that the custom saber shop is now offering a kit, but I have no idea how to go about doing the conversion... :confused

Also, since the blade diameter is different for the Maul, is using the stock blade my only option? Or can I still upgrade to a more durable blade?

lol, did you check their forum?

If you use that kit you can use any 1" blade. You have to sand the heck out of the stock one to reuse it.

You can use stock Maul blades if you sand them down. I recomend using Tims 1 blades.

And heres the tutorial http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1068

Im still really into LED sabers, Im working on a Graflex, Yoda Fx, Vader ESB and a few others.

its just the first sidious I've seen with a blade, looks nice.

It might be a www.sithplanet.com saber:

On another "bad" note:

You crapped up that other thread of illbeats/kit fisto (forcefx here) with this stuff... and after the clean up they still left it. Your claim is full of it.

If illbeats/kit fisto's thread is still up I can't seem to find it. As far as I know it was deleted as a collective consensus from the moderators.

I could say the same about your presence... Unlike you though I'm helpful. I gave this guy ideas and the other parts I suggested to light up his graflex work just as well should he decide to use your electronics.

EDIT: Your going on my ignore list, you add nothing helpful to the RPF. Touting your own "wares" is not the same as help.

Hyperdyne's been a long standing member. He's helped out RPF members countless times. Here's a thread that's most recent.

Helping a fellow RPF member with an annoying neighbor:

In contrast here's a thread where you "help out.":

Laughing at SurferGeek's suggestion of the use of Sketup as a 3D redering tool.

Your final reply is classic:

Okay... fine. Reason #1 why RPF isn't all that fun. An off hand comment gets you a jump down the throat.

I find it ironic you claim to be more helpful than Hyperdyne on the RPF yet you don't find the RPF all that fun. You seem to suggest you have more than one reason why the RPF is not fun. You imply you're helping people left and right on the RPF and thus this gives your statements and character more validity?

Suggesting that Hyperdyne doesn't help out or adds nothing helpful to the RPF is not true. It is a perfect example of your blantant spin and false propaganda for your own personal gratification and gain.

I have seen that EL saber which is why in my posts I say the first LUXEON sidious. Sithplanet is the member Korbanth here I believe. He doesn't actually make the sabers as far as I know. He was certainly not the seller I saw some ebay ones under.

As of what you say Mark... you can't speak your own spin straight (first to call foul is usually commiting the most ehh???). The OP ends up using the free version of Sketch-up to which I give the link to! If that's not help... WHAT IS?!?!

You ALSO are going on my ignore list. There is a reason you've been banned from a fair amount of forums. You seem to follow me waiting to insight "disturbances", who else would bring up a thread months old!

Here's another classic comment to you: Just because your turd has been in the punch longer doesn't make the smell any sweeter.

Oh I'm terribly sorry. My mistake. :confused Where exactly do you state your Sidious is "the first LUXEON sidious"??? Why does it bother you that I mention it might be a SithPlanet Sidious??? :confused It was never an issue or a concern of mine to who made the first bladed Sidious. I was just trying to be helpful. It seemed like you were having trouble figuring out who possibly made your Sidious hilt. Since you do state bellow that you have no clue who made it. Maybe there's no point in me helping you figure it out. You'll just find a way to spin and twist everything to make it appear negative.

I presonally didn't make the hilt. I'm not even sure who did since I got it second hand and I've only seen them on eBay a handfull of times.
:confused

I guess you're right I can't speak my own spin straight. :wacko I wonder what the above crap just proves.

Again your reply above is spin. Your initial reply was communicating to Cayman Shen that Sketchup shouldn't be considered as a possible tool for 3D blueprints. Real helpful to put a link to Sketchup, yet previously downplay Sketchups potential use.

You posted a link to Setchup after the fact of being served some "crow" for tyring to school everybody on how "useless" Sketchup is for 3D saber blueprints. :lol Helping someone find Sketchup with a link yet telling them not to use it is a totally awesome. :thumbsup Your word for today is "negate" or "negation". I'm not going to define it for you. For you can Google them just like you can Google Sketchup. Which happens to be owned by Google.

You ALSO are going on my ignore list.

Sweet!!! Hopefully we'll get in less of these idiotic discussions. Which I'm completely done with. I'm sure everyone else is too.

Yeah, I'd like to thank you guys for this. I was actually looking forward to talking about newer Luxeon sabers since it's a new interest of mine. Guess I'll go to FX-Sabers.com.

Seriously guys, this bickering is pointless. Why do we have to argue about these things?

Yes, I think that a discussion about some of the upcomming tech for LED sabers would be great. Has anyone heard about the Luxeon Rebels?

It's not stupid, Mark is just calling a spade a spade. Xwing can backpeddle all he wants, but his asinine comments demonstrate his unstable character.

Not to mention how xwingband states that he has contributed more to the RPF than I - that is rich. :confused I have been a good-standing member of the RPF since its inception. I cant even count the number of threads I have contributed to. So shut your pie hole, xwing. IMO you are a newb and part of this generation "me" culture that twists reality around your laughable perception.

At any rate, as long as you have been unearthed as the troll you are - the RPF will be better off. Please do ignore me so I dont have to continue these idiotic exchanges with you.

To keep this on topic, here is a pic of some hyperblades if you were interested in them at all: :)

Cue the other members of the FSM to jump in now.... :lol

Hyperdyne's blade are some of the brightest I've seen. But you do pay a price for their power. Luxeon powered blades are nice from a budget standpoint, but you are limited by only having a single LED in your hilt. Really, it is all a matter of personal taste, and how much green you want to part ways with. If you want the brightest blade, I would see Hyperdyne. If you want a bright blade, but don't want to break the bank, then check out The Custom Saber Shop (You can buy everything you need to make a complete saber from TCSS including batteries, electronics, hilt components, and LED). There are also people out there who do commission work and will do whatever a customer wants. Depending on the design, you can spend quite a chunk of change getting a custom job. Of course, you can always do it yourself as either style blade can be utilized by the DIY crowd.

I have a few green Rebels I am playing with right now. They are very small. Nearly impossible to use for our purposes without them being attached to a PCB. Power wise they are definitely more battery friendly than the Luxeon III (and just as bright if not more so in some cases).

Those are (5) Luxeon Rebels pre-mounted to a 10mm x 10mm PCB. As you can see, they are quite small even from Honest Abe's viewpoint. I have some small 14.9mm hex optics for these LEDs but have not yet gotten the base that fits the Luxeon Rebel.

I think it would be interesting to see if a handful of tiny Rebels could be mounted on a custom PCB in an array and fit in a lightsaber.
That would be quite bright, indeed, but the cooling could be difficult. Didn't the TriLux ("only" three luxeons) require a fan?
