hey everybody, i found this luke anh saber for sale on ebay and its pretty cheep and i dont have enough money to make my own graflex saber so i wanted to know if anyone knew anything about it or posibly has on made by this seller. he says there machined from stainless steel and alluminum and the top half before the box looks ok to me. im not the most knowledgable on accuracy but even i can see that the whole bottom looks compleatly inacurate,he didnt even use the right shaped grips but i think they could be repalced. i thought id ask on here to see what people thought about it.

thanks.

There was a thread some months ago about this seller and his sabers. Yeah, they're inaccurate by a ton in every dimension, but they're cheap. So...hmm

If you like the look, go for it- personally, I would try to save for at least one based off a replica Graflex flash if you ever end up wanting to go for accuracy, which would probably be only $100 more than the one you're looking at (or a super-awesome one made from a real Graflex, would cost more than a replica version, but not as much more expensive as you'd think)

thanks for the info, if i do end up getting one, ill probably replace everything but the top section as it looks ok. ive been stalking ebay for a while now looking for a graflex that i can convert, but i havnt found one i can afford, they all seem to go for atleast $200 or $300 :unsure

Buy a parks... They are literally %100 to the original.. They even light up when you put batteries and a bulb in them

That eBay saber looks like it's just a converted chrome sink tube. The bubble strip on it is just a bunch of clear rubber feet. You could always make your own if you go that route.

I agree with Bowelrock though. Get a graflex replica for around $150 (or cheaper if you're lucky). The replicas look nearly as good as the real thing.

Hey Chris, fancy bumping into you here.:):thumbsup
This looks like a VERY early attempt at a Gralfex, late 90's early 2000's. Around that tiem just about everyone here was taking a stab at making Lukes saber.

I agree that a coverted graflex replica would definitely be the most accurate route to build a luke anh/esb saber.

However, if you changed the rubber grips to t-grips, 10 bucks, and swap in a new accurate bubble strip, 5 bucks, for around 75.00 you would have a very acceptable luke style hilt, at half the price of an unconverted graflex replica.

That's not sink tube, you can tell in the center picture, the edges would be gold/tarnished looking.

Its probably exactly what he said, the saber is machined out of stainless tubing, and aluminum.

I would bet if I had to guess, that he has these produced in batches in a small factory in china. Thats the only way I could see him selling anything that polished looking, for 50 bucks.

it could be a nice start for that price but it has a glassbumber bubble strip.
I know because i used the same method for a replacement for a real bubble strip.
And it does have very wrong grips. The Anh version had 7 t shaped grips and not 6 u shaped ones.
You could still buy it and mod it until it is more accurate.

You know, it's too bad about that. The craftsmanship (fit and finish) look first rate. It's a shame it's inaccurate in just about every way. I believe templates are still available online that would make for a far better replica than that!

Beyond that, I wish they would figure out the difference between a prop and a replica. If it wasn't used in a movie, TV show, or play it's not a prop and listing it as such is technically fraud!

thanks for the info everyone, i didnt know parks sabers did a replica graflex but i looked into it and it looks amazing.
CeSquared, thanks, ill deffinatly send a pm about the offer!

Little bump for this thread... I bought one some months ago, it was my first saber and i almost knew nothing about it.

Now, i just can say it's a crappy replica. Almost everything is inaccurate and badly done, the grips are particularly insanely bad.
For a cheaper price, just grab an empty FX lightsaber hilt, it would be MUCH worth the money.

My two cents.
