anyone here remember Teddy Ruxpin?

I got thrown out of a Wal-mart for putting an cassette of Eddie Murphy "Delirious" in the Teddy Ruxpin display. It didn't sync perfectly with the tape or anything, but it worked enough for it to be hilarious...it drew enough of a crowd to attract attention of the department's management, and they took out the tape, gave it back to me and told me not to come into the store for the rest of the week. *lol*

ditto, think I know where it is too. I just remember when furby's came out, I dug up teddy and the books to point out that hasbro had totally ripped TR off. lol

I remember seeing one episode of the live action show, but mostly remember the cartoon.

They are re-issued. I saw one last year at a local mom and pop toy store here in Maine. they are smaller than the original and run off memory stick. IT's basically a USB shoved into a sega genesis cart.

I have an originial one, and yes, you can play any cassette through it. I used to like to play Frank Zappa's "Joe's Garage" through it...the funniest part is that his nose wiggles all through the song "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?"
