I am new to this site but have been a fan of the Predator movies, Books, Comics, and Figures since I was 6. I am also a Semi Pro paintball player that would like some help making a custom out of this gear. If anyone has any ideas on how to do this please let me know.

I think the helmet could be painted like a closed mouth predator. As for the chest- I think it depends on the material and how many hits you take.

Welcome to the Lair!

Thanks for the welcome BigGunns. The chest is paintball body 'Awu'asa that is designed to take a lot of hits and covers my whole chest and back area. I just wanted to know if anyone heard of someone making a costume for such a thing like this.

Hm... I'd direct you towards Macguyver. He's done a bio-helmet through means of a paintball helmet. Don't know about the paintball armor, though.

I'm a little confused- are you going to convert you paintball gear into a predator suit for display? Or is this something for you to wear while you play paintball.

I could certainly offer you some help in the helmet area. B) But first I'll need to know more about what type of conditions it would need to be made to withstand just like the question BigGunns has already posed to you. Is this Predator gear you want to make going to be used on the paintball field or are you just wanting to use gear you already have from playing paintball to make a Predator costume to wear off the field?

As far as the armor goes, I'd thought about using paintball chest armor for some time now as a torso skin base for a long time now. The one I thought would work great for a predator torso skin is the JT E Motion Chest Protector. Since it's made to look like a superhero muscle chest it could be easily modified in a number of different ways from anything like just a quick & easy paint up or all the way up to using it to create a full latex torso suit. Either way, I really love how the muscles are made to look on it which offers a wide range of possibilities for use in any number of costuming projects.

BigGunns and Macguyver I would like to make the suit wearable for paintball games. I play semi pro my team and I all love the predator he is the greaties hunter know today. I already have a suit that I built my self a couple years back when AVP came out but it would not stand up to a paintball hit. I tried it and the paintball cracked the Bio into peaces.

Macguyver I was just thinking if you want something that looks a little better than the chest peace you are talking about look at a Proto 07 Chest Protector its more of a shirt that has 'Awu'asa (Armor) like ridges in it. I would love to use one for this suit but most feilds would not let me on with it.

You could buy one of those cheap vinyl pred mandibles of ebay and glue that to the face shield. That will give the 3d effect and some paint to finish it out. Take backer rod to make the dreads to attach to the back half of the shield.

You could do something very similar to how I made my Bio. But to withstand a paintball hit, I think you would need to apply a rather thick coat of something like mariners resin epoxy over the entire outer area of mask.

Here's the link to how I made my Bio:

HOW TO "MACGUYVER" A BIO HELMET

I also agree w/ you on the Proto 07. It looks really cool & would work great for any number of costume projects, but i still really like the superhero muscle design style of the JT model.
