Anyone got some deer vertebrae? Cow? Maybe a leg bone?

I have a small box of old deer bones. Mostly ribs & vertebrate (If I remember right). I haven't been through it in awhile. I'll take a pic of them tonight, and you can see if there's anything that will work.

Awesome!

I'll check my father-in-law's place. They're the big hunters. I was SUPER bummed, I guess that he gave away the claws from the black bear he shot. All I have are a few antlers in my garage it looks like. I might have another cool dragon thing your friends kid might like though,I'll update with a pic...

EDIT: here ya go. Not the exact same one as the what I have(mine has a slightly thinner & smoother claw)

Now that is pretty cool! Any help towards making something like that is welcome :)

have nothing right now, but it is bear and elk season right now, if i can fill my tag i would be more than happy to throw some bones your way. wish me luck, i need it the freezer is looking low for the summer.

Bear anything would be amazing. Paw, claws, jawbone, etc. Best wishes sent your way on this!

Go to your nearest fabric store and buy a couple of yards of faux alligator skin (Joann's fabrics, $6.50 yrd).
Wrap those bones up in enough dragon hide for the kid to make a cape.

Already in the works :). Friend's doodling out a costume and when he gets it finished up, I'll be attempting to make it as a last minute gift for the wee one.

I have a bunch of deer vertebrae. How many do you need?

No idea how many a deer normally has, but this is a case of the more the merrier. The more bits and pieces, the more I can add to the display and chest, and the more I can make the display look cool.

Thanks guys
Chris

My wife just reminded me that I have a box of resin economy bones that I got for halloween several years ago. They are human bones, but all randoms pieces and whatnot. These are not the cheap halloween store bones but rather the medical supply companies leftovers. I will dig them out later if you want me to and take pictures...if you want any of them you can have them...i just ask you to split shipping costs with me...

let me know...

take care,
Tommy

I actually had a better assortment than I thought. Ribs, vertebrate and legs. These are years old and very dried. Some have a little mummified flesh attached, and others have fake 'gore' on them. Let me know if any of these will work.

I saw a couple of deer skeletons last time I was out hiking. I won't be able to get back out again till Monday at the earliest but I'd be happy to check and see if they are still there and grab some bones for you.

a butchers is a good idea i got a cow shin bone a while back ..free of charge and he even let me cut off the ends in his shop... i used it for bone arrowheads...if you do cut this stuff wear a mask to protect yourself its harsh on the lungs.

If you have a femur or two, and maybe some vertebrae, that'd be awesome. A hand would be cool, but only for the whole "melty knight armor" look I could do with it :) . My zip is 70737 and I'll cover the entire shipping :) Thanks man!

Dude those 5 vertebrae would be awesome! Between this and the silent hill seals, you are the man!

I'd appreciate it :). Like I said, no big hurry on it. If you can snag a few back pieces, that'd be fine with me! Thanks!

Yea, only thing I am going to do is bleach em, and seal em, and that's it. No cutting or modding. I want the kid to be able to keep em if he wants, or chunk em, and not end up getting sick because of em.

Thanks guys!
Chris

If you live anywhere near railroad tracks you can find bones there all the time. Usually bleached by the sun. Just don't try to take on the big metal dragon that moves on tracks LOL.

The bones are in the air! Should be there Tuesday.

I shall spend my 20,000th post saying THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Dude you are awesome. These are pretty much exactly the kind of random bones I need.

I meant to hop online and tell you earlier, but I have been swamped this week and finally got some free time to play.

They look great, all I gotta do is find a bucket to pop em in and pour in my hydrogen peroxide ooze, and let em decant for a while.

Thanks again man, I really appreciate it :)

Cool, man! Glad they made it. They've been in a box for 8-10 years in case I needed them for something but haven't yet, so at least they're going to a good use. Be sure to post pics of the finished project.
Also, if you can ID the 'mystery bone/fossil thing', that'd be great. I used to find them at the beach a lot and still have a few. Someone told me they were petrified sea turtle eggs, but I can't confirm that.

Now I'm incredibly curious about this "fossil thing"!
